Alex Formenton & Knights win 6-3 over Owen Sound
BACK IN BUSINESS:

Formenton used his blazing speed to force a Trenton Bourque holding penalty that led to Regula’s goal. He also buried the late empty-netter, increasing his personal point streak to eight games.
Now he will sit out in Saginaw, with the Knights wanting to take it slow in his first weekend of game action in two months.
“Probably not (happy to miss a game), but I think it’s the best thing for my knee,” the Senators prospect said. “You don’t want to overwork it right away and have the possibility of injuring it. I’ll be out, but ready to go Sunday (in Sault Ste. Marie).”
Formenton felt like he was able to ramp up his velocity throughout the game. He recorded the game’s first shot on net, got used to playing with Kevin Hancock and Liam Foudy and traded punches in a scrum with 6-foot-7 Attack rearguard Igor Chibrikov.
“It’s only my first game,” he said, “and I think it will only get better from here.”
Knights power play positioning pays off right away

(( Knights power play positioning pays off right away. " London Free Press - Ryan Pyette"

ALEC REGULA
“They tried me there (Tuesday in practice),” the Red Wings prospect said. “Our power play has been struggling a little bit and when it’s not working, you’ve got to just try something new. I tried to do the best I could there and luckily one ended up on my stick and I put it home.
“It was a little odd at first, but I was happy to get the call and I’m looking forward to making it work.”
The Knights, of course, had a scientific reason for the switch. They felt they needed a right-handed shot on the goal-line to match up their sticks with the man advantage. On the first try, they went 2-for-5 with a clutch tally.
That’s a start.
“We worked on it all week,” London assistant coach Dylan Hunter said. “We buried when we had to and that’s the whole point of a power play.” ))

I think many of us posters have been saying it all along since the fall camp about needing a big player (preferably RW) in front of the net on power plays. Some of us brought out the name Emmett Pearce a few times and others talked about trying to get Brazeau or Robertson, we could pretty much all see the Knights needed a RW body in front of net, unfortunately and probably a blessing too that we are all armchair managers and coaches.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...Foudy and Formenton should not be on the same line

The Knights have 2 lines that have shown great chemistry.
McMicheal, Dunkley, Guskov
Hancock, Foudy, Tymkin
I would like to see them keep those 2 lines together, leaving a line of say Cotter, Formenton and Moskal, Nelson, or Stranges. Preferably the latter.

The McMichael line is a given...it's the only line that has really given us legit consistency since September. I did like Hancock with Foudy and Tymkin, yes we know Tymkin sits for 5..but Formenton isn't the logical slot in, it has to be a player that plays the corners and wall as well as Tymkin. (I.E. Cotter)

when Tymkin comes back they have to put that line back together and really slot Formenton down a bit. I know it sounds odd, but you don't force chemistry and they've done it routinely by trying Foudy and Formenton together dating back to last season. They just don't compliment each other and actually render their line useless when together.

Guskov/Dunkley/McMichael
Foudy/Hancock/Tymkin
Stranges/Cotter/Formenton
Nelson/Moskal/Turko

...it just makes the most sense ;)

I like all the lines you are suggesting PhlyerPhanatic31.

3 strong offensive lines
And one of the best defensive line in the league if not the best.
That would be perfect for the playoffs, four strong line rolling through their opponents.

Agree completely.
Unfortunately, Tymkin’s suspension might have wrecked those plans.

Why are we still employing three defencemen on the PP..... yes Regula got the goal but I have to think the three best forwards would be the best approach

Was wondering that myself - outside of Tymkin they don't have size or grit up front so guess Dale figured use one of the d'men for net front presence. Really hadn't been working ....

Is the Knights at Spirit game being televised on Rogers cable in London? If not, is OHL online the only other option to view the game?

Why would the league take so long to announce a suspension if one is indeed comming to tymkin.
