Once they won the cup, I knew it wouldn't happen, but if they had failed, I would not have put it past DL to make that difficult decision considering it was the freebie.
I still say I 'd like to see Richards as our 3LW, replacing King.
Richards-Stoll-Williams.
I think they can be rooted in that. If you are out of shape, you are likely going to play bad and lack confidence. When you are slow and lack confidence, you'll make bad passes or poor decisions because you can buy yourself room. Long story short, I think being out of shape compounds the problem. That sounded like one of those directv commercials.
IMO, if Richards has a subpar year next year, he'll get traded.
If he was out of shape going in, how was it that he was almost at a ppg in the first couple of months? You'd think that a player would get into better shape as he went along. I am kind of puzzled by all this because you'd think he would have gotten up to speed after a month or so if he came into camp in bad shape. He was exactly the opposite.
I hope they are careful with whatever workout plan they have for him. He isn't very fast so bulking up will cause problems with footspeed. Hopefully someone like Gary Roberts can set something up for him so he can improve in the right way. I remember Danny Briere saying once that he was better at his end of season weight than at his early season weight so he purposely started the following season at the lower weight.
I don't want to wish summer away but I can't wait for the season to start!
You'd be surprised.

Breaking news ... OK, not really. But Kings will NOT be buying out the contract of center Mike Richards, according to Dean Lombardi.
What's sad is that the guy had to actually come out officially and make such a statement.

Not necessarily. He's not being bought out. He could be just trying to get Dave Nonis to throw in an extra 1st round pick since Richards is a great competitor who is a great winner and has leadership experience.

It really depends. You have to realize, if Richards has a down year next year, his trade value will be very low. I don't see Lombardi just giving Richards away. If he can get a decent return, yeah, then I can see a trade going down.
