Is the nhl now moving towards becoming a load management league no different than the nba league? They should put bigger penalties on this before it gets out of hand.

NBA teams can reasonably expect to rest starters and still win against bad teams. NHL teams have no such luxury.

The bad teams should probably try harder October through February so the top seeds don’t have double digit leads on a playoff spot that allow them to rest guys.

Fair point, but if you’re comfortably in a playoff spot you should probably rest your stars. Teams don’t, but I do think it’ll become more common in the future. Chasing regular season records instead of resting worked so well for the Leafs last year.

Would Mark Stone = Kawhi Leonard?
Plays ~60% of regular season and dials it up to 11/10 come playoff time?

I dont see this as an issue. Caps aren't resting any of their top guys now that they clinched. playoff spot. When the Bruins and Bolts have historic regular seasons, they didn't rest any of their guys in the stretch run even tho they had locked in playoff spots months before.
