The offseason begins

Bill Barnwell's NFL Mock Draft with Trades for every team!
If they trade behind the Chiefs…or watch the Chiefs trade ahead of them for that matter…I’ll lose my shit.

The playoffs aren’t the only place they keep losing to KC. It starts on draft night. Giving them Mahomes, watching them trade up for McDuffie and getting Elam, handing them Worthy and trading down twice for a guy who doesn’t get open…

Let’s start trying to beat them at the f***ing draft for a change. Maybe it will follow on the field come the playoffs. Instead of watching the QB you gave them throw big plays to the WR you gave them while the DB they jumped you for locks down the bum you settled for

Semi OT and touchy subject:

I totally respect the no-politics-rule around these parts, and I certainly don't have the slightest desire to get on moderators' nerves or make their lives difficult.

But apparently there are quite a number of professional sports teams allegedly including ones from Buffalo that have been donating to political causes, also quite recently.

So I'm kind of wondering if and how this can be discussed. When sports teams themselves de facto get involved in politics (and I'm not talking about visiting the White House after a championship win), should the no-politics rule still be upheld, or is there a need for a space for this to be addressed. If the answer is "strictly not on hf" then so be it.

In any case, personally, I do like to know if the team I'm rooting for takes a political stance and if yes, which one it is.
Sounds like a quick way to get this thread closed, haha.

If Im worried my post may break a rule, I usually send Chain a message with the post in it to get his ok first.

There is a OT thread, not sure what the etiquette is over there tbh (guessing NO politics) so check with chain or Z

Beane has his flaws but he can't do much to prevent this from happening lol. I also don't feel like KC has beaten us due to their drafting. Mahomes wasn't a sure-fire pick. Worthy didn't do that much last season. 59 rec on 98 targets for 638 yards compared to 29 rec on 57 targets for 556 yards. I would have loved McDuffie over Elam. KC gave their 3rd and 4th to move up 8 spots for McD. That's a lot. In hindsight it works but that's quite the gamble to move up 8 picks.

Tush Push vote tabled.
Time for all those injuries to happen again this season McD mentioned...

In sort of kidding, McD must be a ball at parties. Time to stop trying to be being Don Shula and trying to recreate the No Fun League and worry about special teams and stopping the Chiefs again.

I'm seeing a lot of people conflating the tush push with QB sneaks. I don't think anyone has an issue with normal QB sneaks. I also don't think teams like the Bills or the Eagles even need the push from other players behind the QB, Allen and Hurts are ridiculous athletes that can drag multiple defenders for extra yards on their own.

I personally think the tush push is a garbage play. When I was younger I remember "aiding the runner" was a penalty, I'm not sure why the refs decided to stop calling it. But I agree with the rule in principle, for that reason I'm not a fan of the tush push or those weird rugby scrums that develop with runners further down the field. And while the official injuries from that play might not be evident, the wear and tear on the guys in the trenches and unreported dings are probably much higher than people realize.

They’re going about banning the tush push all wrong. Defenders aren’t allowed to push each other forward. Go after that with the fact that offensive players are. The double standard shouldn’t exist. There’s a reason one side isn’t allowed to do it. Make them choose. If they try to legalize it on D…they will pass making it illegal on offense due to the hypocrisy alone. Philly would be out there voting no on one and whining about the other…exposing it for what it is.
