Post-Game Talk: Literally shooting yourself in the foot

No one is forgetting about his MVP status and the fact that they wouldn't have made the playoffs without him but come on....he was bad tonight.

He'll be better on Monday night but he wasn't good enough tonight.
He wasn't good tonight. I never said different. I was talking about the winning goal.

Still, Drai made a great play for our first goal, he hit a post on a great shot, and he nearly scored on another.

We're a hard audience. I would say he wasn't good. I would say Skinner defines bad and did again tonight.

But really what did we have tonight going. I thought McD had legs and Hyman had legs. Nobody else had much gas in the tank.

Skinner -1.61 GSAE. Absolutely LOST in net so many times, including that last goal. Why in gods name was he 10 feet out of his net? At one point he had completely turned his back on the play and had to dive to save a wrap around because he was so far out of position. The first goal he had NO IDEA where the puck was, when it was right in front of him, he falls backwards, and Vegas has an easy goal.

He has no situational awareness whatsoever

ANNUAL IMPLICATIONS

This game is going to haunt them if they lose this series. Let Vegas in in the worst way possible.

Letting Karlsson get that pass off from behind the net is inexcuseable, just go stick to puck and we're in OT now.
Then obviously McDavid and Nurse gets caught off guard, both gets stuck and throws themselves to the ice.
Then Stu overplays the puck and Draisaitl puts it into the net.

Total nightmare fuel, I just hope they can shake this off, it still has me stunned tbh.

If Pickard's in net, we're up in this series 3-0.

Absolutely sickening way to lose. Similar to LA game 1. McDavid ties it up late, Skinner chokes right after.

Game 4 is a must-win. Pickard has to be back in the net. Have absolutely no confidence in this team being able to win a game or play well with Skinner in net.

And Draisaitl is horrendous this post-season. Is he injured again because that's the only explanation.
Mcdavid scores 2 ES points yet finishes the night a minus.

Um all you guys blaming drai.... For the love of God grow some brains. Shot made at an empty net. Your reptilian instinct is to try and stop the puck from entering the net.

Maybe blame, oh I don't know, the goalie who is not in the actual net?
It's not a binary thing. They aren't mutually exclusive. Both observations can be true at the same time -- Skinner, as per his usual shit, did not make saves that they've been privileged to have with Pickard in net. It clearly deflated the team and they started playing a really timid, tentative game after the 2nd one. Draisaitl was f***ing awful as well, and directly responsible on the second 2 goals.
