Linus is definitely coming into the playoffs playing some of the best of his career.


Since March 8, Ullmark leads the entire league in:
  • GAA = 1.50
  • HD GAA = 0.75
  • Sv% = .945
  • HD Sv% = .895
  • Sv% on 1-Day Rest (Games 2 through a possible Game 7 will all be played on 1-day of rest) = .958

I'm on record for Calling our friend Linus our 5M$ backup, so I really am counting on him to make me eat my words.

I do think I'll end up taking that back, I hope so.

Ullmark was Ullmark at the Worlds. Really good at times. Spectacular in the 2nd period. Just okay but not great in the 3rd. Sweden loss was not his fault, but he didn't make the big saves when it mattered at the end either.

I like the guy, and I think he will prove to be a valuable mentor, big brother, back up for Swayman, and his being a Bruin will help make Swayman better faster, but our future is Swayman that's for sure, and that looks pretty good.

Now give us the rankings among the 30 goalies who played at least 1 playoff game.
 
Hopefully he does well this season. I still want Sway the #1.

Sorry for this one off-topic post but ugh, could you imagine if Foligno or Ullmark wasn't signed and we had almost 8M cap space more . ****
 
This guy is THE guy. I think if you were one of the people saying he was a bad signing and we had to just throw Swayman into 65 games, you made a bad take.

I think Swayman might play himself into a manageable 3 year deal to backup Linus, and Linus definitely stays. I didn't think that was a lock before.

Linus is a good goalie and was a good signing, and just hitting his goalie prime years. That said, we are 4 games into the season. It's way too soon to make any judgments about the goalie situation in the Spring, let alone next season. Bruins can't lose either way, though.

You just can't coach size and experience, and Linus has a lot more of both. Just think they'll be very hard pressed to move on from him. But if the cap goes up 4m, we won't have to!

Not declaring either of them one thing or another after a few starts. Ullmark is definitely playing better though.

Watching BehindTheB few days ago Ullmark has excellent communication with his defense.
