Don't think it's that terrible, I like the top 6
Dvorak, Armia, Evans, Pezz and RHP are all on contract years for the bottom 6
The addition of Dach + the organic growth alone should make us a better team
hopefully no major injuries to key players

I still think there will be a dman or two traded, perhaps for a forward.

If no changes:

Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkovsky
Anderson - Dach - Newhook
Roy - Evans - Armia
RHP - Dvorak - Gallagher
Pezzetta

Matheson-Guhle
Hutson-Savard
Xhekaj-Barron
Harris

Montembeault
Primeau

Struble starts in AHL.

Dach likes to possess the puck and set up linemates. Anderson isn't very good with the puck. It could be a good match. Last year Ander sd on had many games with many chances that he totally blew. It seemed mental. If he can get it together and bury a quarter of those chances, he may have some trade value at some point.

I like your lines, but who knows maybe he refinds his chemistry with,RHP:

Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky
Anderson-Dach-RHP/Dvo
Roy-Newhook-Armia
Dvo/RHP-Evans-Gallagher
Pezzeta

Matheson-Ghule
Hutson-Savard
Xhekaj-Barron
Struble-Harris

This looks like our lineup right now......................I think there is a trade with an upgrade in our top 6 not sure who, but there is another move this summer.....
That drops Andy into the bottom six and Pezz or RHP waived and in Laval.

A second line of Necas - Dach - Newhook is starting to grow on me...

What I'd like to see:
Roy - Suzuki - Caufield
Slaf - Dach - Armia
Gally - Newhook - Anderson
Dvorak - Evans (double shift whichever winger is having a good night)
Extra: Pezz and RHP

Matheson - Guhle
Hutson - Savard
Harris - Barron
Xhekaj
Extra: Struble

Habs have a lot of back to backs in the season coming up, I think we'll need to ease in a guy like Hutson similar to what ANA did with Carlsson. Especially vs physical teams.

By January, Savard/Armia will be gone. Struble will be a regular. You can audition one of the kids in Laval and by then we'll also know what we have in Barron.

Like it but I think Armia on the 3rd line, let Anderson earn his way back to top 9

it is possible, but unlikely.

if 4-5 young players truly break out, some of the older guys find their mojo back (anderson, dvorak&gally) with good health it isn't out of the question.
Dach is the key ad nauseum

Slaf - Suzuki- Caufield
Don’t touch at that line for now

Newhook - Dach - Anderson
They did look good when they played together and I expect Anderson to be better this season.

Roy - Dvorak - Armia
One thing I like is that they play at the same pace

RHP - Evans - Gallagher
They play a similar type of game

Matheson - Guhle
Hutson - Savard
Xhekaj - Barron/Harris

This is pretty much what I imagine too, as long as Hutson has a strong camp. I'm not a fan of Guhle on the right side, but it's probably going to be what happens to start the year. I also hate that Anderson is on the 2nd line, but there isn't really a better option. I foresee them switching wingers around to find someone that works with Dach and Newhook.

I believe Barron will need waivers to go down, so I think they will likely keep him up and try to work with him even if he has a mediocre camp.

I would prefer Guhle on the left side too but I know it will happen

I don’t think Anderson will play there all season long either, but I would start him their

Forward depth is going to be a real problem if they don’t add anything else. It would be nice to not see RHP or Pezetta at all.

Is it?

Even with Newhook and Roy in the top6 -

Dvorak and Evans at C with Beck as an injury callup

Armia, Anderson, Gallagher, RHP as wingers with Pezzetta/Heineman as an injury callup.

I feel like as bad as Gallagher/Anderson are for their contracts having them in the bottom 6 is actually decent depth.

The real problem in my eyes is still the super young defence.

We know there is going to be injuries. For me Pezz, RHP and Heineman aren’t NHLers. Would be nice to get an experienced nhler to replace those guys who can help the pk.

Caufield - Suzuki - Slaf
Newhook - Dach - Roy
X - Dvorak - Anderson
Armia - Evans - Gallagher

We have 1 spot open in our top 12, and we have several candidates for it.
RHP, Farrell, and Heineman all have good chance at taking that spot.
Beck, Kapanen, and Tuch have an outside chance at it.

RHP is the front runner for that spot since he was in the nhl the last 2 years, but I'm hoping Farrell has a strong camp and wins it

With how well Newhook and Armia played whether united with Roy or Gallagher, I wonder if that won't be a really good 3rd line.

Then the dream would be for Dach to be abke to get Anderson going - so we can ship him out.

I like these lines for the reasons you stated. I have other combos in mind for other reasons, but these could be good lines.

I liked the way Armia - Newhook - Roy/Gally played last season. But if Dvo can step in and pick up where Newhook left off, all the better for his trade value. Though I have my reservations that he can.

Would also be incredible if Anderson could get going under Dach and be shipped out.

I don't think they see Newhook playing center long term, so makes more sense put him back on the wing unless we have injuries.

Dach has great potential, so we have to give him good wingers for him to breakout offensively.

I believe we saw Armia - Evans - Gallagher last season, and it looked great.

Same. I think if nothing gets done via trade, this is what we are looking at.

It’s a step in the right direction development wise, but it’s going to be a hard road to travel on. I was expecting a bit more on the trade front but it is what is for now. September moves exist so I’ll hold on hope for it.
