Probably see Stutzle and Norris moved to the Taxi squad to manoeuvre the waiver situation, wouldn't be the least bit surprising

No it wouldn't. Half expecting it at this point.

You know if we had a couple more waiver exempt guys on the roster it would make all this easier. Just saying.

I think Bruce is under the assumption that if we put a guy through waivers he'd actually get claimed... which is pretty funny. No takers on Haley?

Time to play Logan ' Our best PP forward' Brown and Erik "My greatest day' Brannstrom
Yup. Neither guy is going to change the outcome for the team, they will still be losing a large majority of games, but at least brass will see where our two guys are.

There is no need to see where 30 year olds on the last legs of their career are, we know what we’re getting out of them.

It would be shocking if neither Brown or Brannstrom got a good number of games this season, health permitting. Roster will change over time.

At earliest they won't be getting a look until the end of the road trip. If they got called up now they would be forced to go through the one week quarantine before joining the team. The Sens finish their road trip February 4th and then are back at home on the 6th. They then start another road trip from the 11th to the 18th and are back home on the 21st then the next road trip starts March 2nd.

I could see Brannstrom getting called up on the 6th. I had assumed guys like L.Brown, Formenton and Sokolov would likely get some games in the AHL before they get called up. If they start the season strong maybe they join the taxi squad for the March 2nd road trip. After that I wouldn't be surprised if these prospects start pushing other players out of the lineup.

This team is like Tim's rewards card. Like you get free coffee every 7th transaction, Teams get a free win every 6th game.

Nothing more, nothing less

On a more positive note by the 2nd half of the season all of Brannstrom, Formenton, L.Brown, Sokolov and Ridly Greig could get games. Thne there is a chance that all of Sanderson, Kleven, JBD and Pinto could turn pro and they could get games. Maybe even other NCAA prospects turn pro or we sign an NCAA free agent that gets games as well. That could make the 2nd half of the season at least a bit more exciting and entertaining to watch.

At this point we might as well try some different line combos. Here are a couple of ideas:

Tkachuk-Norris-Dadanov
Stützle-Galchenyuk-Batherson

Or
Tkachuk-Galchenyuk-Batherson
Stützle-Norris-Dadanov

Or

try Paul at center with something like:

Tkachuk-Paul-Batherson
or
Tkachuk-Paul-Galchenyuk
Stützle-Norris-Batherson

Or maybe something like
Tkachuk-Paul-Stützle
Galchenyuk-Norris-Batherson

or
Tkachuk-Galchenyuk-Stützle
Paul-Norris-Batherson

or
Tkachuk-Norris-Stützle
Galcheuyuk-Paul-Batherson

Its time to take a look at Paul at center as he has the best faceoff numbers in the team.

Tkachuk-Paul- Batherson
Stutzle-Norris-Dadonov
Galchenyuk-Tierney-Brown
L.Brown-Chlapik-White

Chabot-Zeitzev
Wolanin-Zub
Braanstrom-Brown

Not too many PK ers in that lineup.

If we want to see this team improve this season...

Tkachuk - L.Brown - Batherson
Stutzle - Norris - Dadonov
Formenton - Paul - C.Brown
Watson - Chlapik - White
Galchenyuk

Chabot - Zub
Brannstrom - Zaitsev
Wolanin- Gudbranson
Brown

Murray
Hogberg/Daccord

L1 : This is like the Paul-Brown-Batherson line but with Tkachuk instead of Paul

L2 : Skill and speed, 2 young guys that will get better and allow Dadonov to play a passing game. All 3 can wire the puck and make plays.

L3 : A lot of speed and defensive awareness, could even produce offensively. I wouldn't be shy to play that line vs anyone once they get in synch

L4 : I like Chlapik on the 4th, steady player IMO. Watson can skate and even score. He's tough and I don't mind having him in that role. This line serves for White to rebuild confidence. I'm not putting pressure on him to produce, just want that his overall game get stronger and stronger.

Galchenyuk : good guy to have as a skilled back-up

Anisimov, Paquette, Stepan, Coburn, Reilly : Trade any of them for a pick if you can. If not, put them on waivers. Maybe Paquette gets claimed. Teams know he could be competent in a different situation. Stepan too but not all teams can take a 6.5 CH just like that. Move them to the taxi squad if/after they clear. Send down others to the AHL if the taxi gets crowded (Peca, Haley, Aspirot)

Chris Tierney : Trade him with a 2nd and I don't know what, get a COMPETENT RD to upgrade Zub

I don't care at all if too many kids and blabla. This vet insulation experiment is failing hard. I want to see young legs make mistakes and I want to see who learns from it and progress. This season is a big audition for me, I don't even care about the W/L column. I won't staple rookies to the bench because they made a mistake. They will have time to figure it out but they know they will have to at some point because other guys will look to steal their job as soon as next season. So if they eventually want to get a nice contract and permanent job, it's up to them.

Can someone really tell me I shouldn't be the new coach of this team? :sarcasm:

It would accomplish Taxi squad players getting to play Bruce, that's how the Taxi squad works.

The players on the Taxi squad being with them is irrelevant unless room is made from the roster, one would think the head beat reporter from the team would know this

If Garrioch -- a sportswriter who is supposedly spends all his mental energy covering the NHL -- doesn't know this, then he really is a bigger slug than I though.

Except I'd play the 4th line with White as C. I'd like to have at least one of our regular Cs be a rightie.
