You don't think the GM's are more concerned about making their own teams better than screwing Tampa up?
Taking on bad contracts and cap isn't making your team better in the short term, unless it's a full rebuild starting from scratch and GM's are getting something added to theses deals to help their teams down the road.

Palat, Killorn, and Gourde aren’t on bad contracts

Danault will sign for more than all of them, and all of them are better than Danault

Well there happens to be quite a handful of NHL teams who aren't (or shouldn't be) concerned how their team looks short term.

Your team just traded a 2nd and 3rd for Arvidsson. Palat, Killorn and Gourde are all better.

So as a Kings fan you’d be happy to trade what you did for Arvidsson and then watch a team in your division give up less for a better player?
Palat is 30 years old,Killorn will be 32 in September.Gourde will be 30 in December. Why again should the Kings give assets for the others as their not competing for a Stanley cup for at lease two to three years?Arvidsson is only 28...

We don’t have to trade with the Kings. No team has leverage over any (ex the Kraken with the ED) because there are dozens of teams in the market

With a flat cap and uncertainty in the short term, teams are going to be careful with the cap.Teams won't be just helping out Tampas cap issues without something added.Kings don't need anymore 30 year old plus players right now.Good luck..

Goody is getting 6x3.5
Arvidsson makes near 5 and got a 2nd and a 3rd

And you think the Bolts have to attach picks for Palat/Gourde/Killorn who are all vastly superior players

really really hope no one takes Tyler Johnson, thankfully don't think Tampa has enough assets to get rid of him though. imo it would take 3 1sts, and I don't think other GMs would be very happy with you for helping out Tampa, giving them 2-3 free cups, and ruining everyone else's cup windows, all for three 32nd overall picks that will likely all bust anyway or at best, one or two might play for another GM after they get fired in a few years. Doubt anyone does it. Hopefully Seattle takes Foote and Tampa has to pay someone to take Gourde or Killorn and someone else to take Palat. Best case scenario for the rest of the league imo, I'm sure BriseBois can outsmart a GM or two though.

I think Gourde is taken from Tampa Bay in the expansion draft, if more is needed, contact Seattle, they will need prospects, and yes even some late picks. Centers and defensemen seem short in the expansion draft.

Really, the only bad contract at this point is Johnson. Everybody else provides good value for their contract.

Even when dealing with only one team, like Martin St Louis who publicly demanded a trade to the Rangers and only the Rangers, TB still won the trade. Leverage isn't all it's cooked up be.

Haha not sure if you're trolling or not, but you are all going to be in for a rude awakening if you think we're going to have to attach picks to trade gourde or killorn. As much as you guys want to hate Tampa and want other GMs to collude against them, the reality is it won't happen. Teams will do what they need to to do improve themselves.

I think the Kings won the trade when Ryan Smyth demanded a trade to the Oilers and *only* the Oilers.

Smyth played three more pointless, last-place seasons for the Oilers and Colin Fraser hoisted a cup.

You never know.

Lol, Danault is 10x beyter defensivelly than any of those guys, and will grt you 40-50pts in the process.

Making sure tue other team can't score and you'll win the game. The 3 guy named above are overpaid for whay they bring to the table.
