Post-Game Talk: Lightning @ Rangers 2/10/13 "The Adventures of Wade Richards and Rick Gomez"

Not sure what you guys are talking about with Kreider. He had quite a few slick plays and I thought the third line was as effective as ever for most of the game. I wouldn't move him off the line with Miller and Cally. Their games fit together really well.

Honestly, can't see any real complaints with ANYONE - everyone played well, but for some miscommunication on the D going deep with no coverage that led to the odd man breaks in the first period.

Im not complaining i agree with you. Kreider made 2 really great passes they should have been goals. He also got open a bunch of times. Im just pissed that guys keep missing him wide open all teh time. the kid is a finisher they need to feed him the puck

Asham gets the John Tortorella fist pump. What an honor.

Just to be clear :sarcasm:

Good game, even though Hank bailed us out in the first.

I understand that but Kreider can be a valuable goal scorer so he needs some guys who can set him up. I like miller but he is becoming a little too shot happy he missed kreider a few times tonight

Don't disagree, but I'm OK with Miller doing some "on the job training" at the NHL level. He brings a lot to the table with his energy and speed, and has a lot of tools, he's just a little raw.

I agree id much rather have miller than boyle i just hope miller doesnt get too arrogant with the puck. Tonight i noticed he wasnt as sharp because he was just trying to create for himself

Also pretty tough crowd RE Miller.

Thought he looked pretty good on the forecheck and breakout. Continued to make some rookie mistakes as he has been.

I have no problem with miller i thought he was ok. The biggest thing is that he missed some open guys on his line a few times

I was thinking we ought to rotate Asham and Boyle on the 4th line - Asham must have been thinking the same thing because he played by far his best game tonight (we also need his big body on Tuesday for the Bruins, a big physical team).

I thought Gilroy actually had a pretty solid game, too.

Playing him 8 minutes is a bit low, but all of our defensemen played reasonable minutes today.

Big body? Asham is like 5'10" lol

Having worthwhile players means people slot into roles. People slotting into roles means they play like a team. Playing like a team with talented people on the roster means wins. Simple.

What's ridiculous is that you thought we might have learned this last year when we saw what a huge difference Hagelin and Mitchell made to our lineup.

Yeah. WTF guys? Kreider looked awesome tonight. It is clear as day that his ankle was bothering him tremendously.

He played fine. I don't think it was his performance that made him miss the third period. I think Torts just wanted to get Girardi back in the "swing of things."

Honestly, I am fairly confident with either Eminger or Gilroy on the bottom pair. They need to get Bickel off the team ASAP.

I would say awesome at times and then better than ok at times, and I think we can all agree that penalty was bad.

although I do believe as the ankle continues to heal he will continue to play better. I am a huge Krieder fan too, and I am excited to see him progress.

Kreider is not going to be the kind of player you can move around everywhere and have success. He will need to be placed in the correct situation, and stay there. A Checking, defensive type line where most of the offense comes on the rush could be such a situation.

I don't think that line is turning into that type of unit. That third line is turning into a quick strike forechecking line. Essentially, a speed/energy line.
