Case is that the team isn't strong enough core wise to win the cup, they are no longer young, and the next wave core (laf, kakko, cuylle, miller, fox) is probably not good enough either. They aren't "help" away from contention. They are a new core away. That's impossible at a deadline.

I was tongue in cheek a little but I wouldn’t take it off the table.

Guys like Goodrow, if someone wanted to pay for him, goodbye. Frankly same with Trouba.

All the guys with NMCs make a trade difficult but I wouldn’t stop listening to deals on Zibanejad. Oh no, we won’t win the Cup if we move him?

We won’t win the Cup if we keep him.

If someone LIKE Zegras (and I’m not saying Zegras, I mean a young Center whose team wanted to move him for a change of scenery and wanted a win-now piece) was available as a centerpiece to a package plus more assets… uh, I’m not sure how much we lose there. I’m listening. Depends on the overpay.

That’s the only way they are going to win consistently. Bottom 2 need it exclusively. And the top unit, especially when Wheeler is on it needs to start plays below the goal line.

Their game snapped into focus, and it was sharp. The Avs were on their heels most of the 3rd. They pinched effectively and wore down Colorado.

Thought Kakko was ass the majority of the game. He killed so many plays but did have a couple good moments. I'm a big proponent of keeping him and tonight I think his timing was a little off and he was trying to force stuff, probably a product of the break. Kid needs ice time, he's right there. The short stick thing is infuriating, he would be impossible to knock off the puck if he used a longer stick that could put more distance between him and the defender.

Kreider was actually noticeable 5v5 as was Zibanejad.

Two very evenly matched teams tonight; both missing their Captains and a couple other pieces (Chytil, Nichuskin).

Big props to the refs tonight for realizing they were complete ass in the first and letting the boys handle it the rest of the way

He bailed out Wheelchair with a minute left. Father time had a chance to chip it forward and out but instead tried sending it to the middle for a rush up and of course it went back the other way. I was screaming at the TV

100% if someone was dumb enough to offer real value for Zib, Kreider, Trouba, Igor, heck anyone but Fox I say they should do it.

Best part of his game is moving the puck followed by getting shots on net in the offensive zone

I thought Brodzinski played well

You don't think other teams don't value those guys? Think again. Kreider has score 110 goals in 2.5 seasons and is on pace again for 35+, Igor while having a down season is still a Vezina winning goalie, Trouba actually may be traded this off season. The toughest is Mika simply because of the contract.

I'm not saying they wouldn't be wanted, but that we wouldn't get good value back. If we *could* you'd have to take the trade.
 
I thought Miller -Schneider were great again. Clock is ticking for Trouba to find his game otherwise, time to ship him out this summer.
