Under other circumstances I would say "but Chytil was just down there and he's got plenty of chances left." But I think you're probably right with Andersson. I just get that vibe that Quinn doesn't like him and maybe the front office too.
I dont see how you get the assumption that the front office doesn't like him? I see this as the front office finally realizing that Quinns choice here could hurt his development.

It’s very clear Howden is a Quinn favorite so I can’t see him going anywhere. Although he should go to Hartford

7th Overall pick can't handle the NHL 2 1/2 years after being drafted.

It's an issue. Hold the "too young" bull****.

He is a massive disappointment.
His coach has done him ZERO favors. He hasn’t been out remotely in a position to succeed at all.

It’s quite clear that DQ just doesn’t like Lias as a player. I’m not even talking about force feeding him top minutes but when you have a player like Howden who has looked at the very least just as bad as Lias who has inexplicably been given time in the top 6 and time with Kakko and PP time. It makes no sense.

Lias may not have earned much more but he was hardly given a fair opportunity to do so.

The main problem isn't the coach. It's that he's been bad. If you put Panarin with those guy you'd still see him making plays with his stick and such even if they can't finish. You saw nothing out of him. Playing him in that role is also dumb because there's no reason not to see if he could do something more with a different role but this is mostly on him.

*Same applies to Howden except he for some reason gets this big role.

The only development that made any sense.

Gettinger being the call up is interesting. A. most likely that Zibanejad is coming back.

B1. Strome will play center (Howden is moved down and Kakko goes to 1RW) or B2. Simply McKegg goes to 4C

No assuming, just thinking it's a possibility. The front office could have said to Quinn "we're thinking of sending Lias down but we'd like to see what he does with different linemates first." Either that conversation didn't happen or they're letting Quinn be the final arbiter of these things.

If he doesn’t come back a better player, he’s a lost cause and, at best, a throw-in in a future trade.

The Rangers, for the first time in forever, have an AHL team that looks like a great place to play. They've established early on that you can spend time there, have success, come back to the Show and get a real chance to stick. This is one way to maximize the return both on Andersson and the Pack.

Yeah. If Howdy went down too, team would be stacked and both would have that chance to gain more confidence.

The kid needs to learn what he has to do in order to be effective. And he needs confidence.

If I’m management I watch how he plays rather that just look at the score sheet.
This.
I want andersson to be a part of the team in the worst way, with his heart and passion and the way he plays the game, if he makes it, he’ll be a really good player to have even if he’s a bottom6 guy.

But watching him this year, and watching him 3 times live in the last couple weeks. He’s not up to speed, he doesn’t process the game well in turns of 5 man units and the flow of an NHL shift. He’s great in his compete in his one on one battles, but that’s where I think he needs more time, he’s so locked into what he is doing, and he’s so green that there’s no flow because him and his linemates and yeah part of that is his ljnemates, but if your ready and your a hard compete guy, he’d be standing out in the things he’s doing alone in his shifts, it’d be noticeable he’s doing his part, but he’s not, he actually makes the 4th more ineffective with him at center and mckegg at wing with andersson having center responsibilities, then mckegg centering the 4th line and having the responsibilities. Mckegg knows the NHL game, he knows the pace, he know how quickly you have to read the ice and go through your teams reads. And to me andersson is tunnel-visioned just trying to keep up and compete with his own self, that it’s almost like andersson, and 4 guys on the ice,

My money is on he is a point a game player down there. Was never given his shot with Quinn. He’ll force a callup within a few weeks only for him to play him back on the 4th line again

Literally everybody thinks this is a good move, but you're all in here arguing about whether he's still a decent prospect or not.

Lets just wait a few weeks and see how he does in the AHL? That should go a long way to settle that question.

Nah dude. Get with the narrative.

If he sucks in the AHL, it's because Quinn/Gorton killed his future.

Because we keep making debates about the coach debates about the quality of the prospect.

The two are not mutually exclusive. You can say "hey, give this guy a chance" and still have him fall on his face.
