On KFAN this morning, Guerin all but said Ohgren and Marat were locks to make the roster next season.

What was the verbiage? That’s quite the change in philosophy from when he first took over.

Hard not to get excited about him, especially liked the quotes below from the article. And as Guerin also mentioned, he plays a game that could translate to any part of the lineup.

"You could see how an Ohgren, Boldy and Eriksson Ek line would work.

“I like him a lot,” Boldy said. “Strong, powerful, skates well. He can shoot. He won his battles, too, which is huge. It just opens up more in the NHL if you can win those battles and keep the puck alive. Guys are so good that it’s tough if that’s an issue.”

Hynes said there are plans for Ohgren to get looks up in the lineup during camp and “see what he does” with it."

But I also saw comments saying that he probably won't play because Guerin gave contracts to Johansson and Gaudreau and he's to stubborn to admit they were bad contracts so they'll play even if Ohgren deserves it more.

The thing that is going for him is that he brings something completely different than MoJo.
MoJo is a little one-dimensional and is on a down trajectory.

Ohgren has a better style match with JEE/Boldy, playing a power game, than MoJo. Plus, while slower, he plays at a more similar speed with the other two. If MoJo used his speed to create space and enter the zone, that's one thing, but he doesn't.

The staff just needs to get their trust behind Ohgren and if that takes a few games on the 4th line, so be it. But I think his style, versatility, and shot-first mentality all works in his favor over a one dimensional MoJo.

Ö is a completely different letter than "O" and is not pronounced the same.
