I think Mantha's much more dynamic a player than anyone on this roster outside of Sid and Geno. He's guilty of taking shifts off and you would love a guy his size to use his size more effectively, but you're not getting a flawless player. Teams don't let those guys go, especially for what we have to offer. I'm not married to the idea, but I do think Mantha is a guy who could breakout if he escapes Detroit. Don't think we have what they'll want, but I could totally see Mantha working really well with Geno + Grunt, Laughton in this case.

And I'd like us to be rid of Sully this summer anyway. I get that the team's gone on a nice run, but I feel like they go on a nice run every season. If/when we bottom out again in the playoffs, I hope Hextall looks to install his guy behind the bench, whoever that may be.

Re: Zucker, we should all be wanting more. The guy has it in him, he's just not putting it together. I'm not saying he's been stellar, but I've wanted him for a while in Minny and I've always liked the player. This season's Zucker isn't the same Zucker that's been in the league for as long as he has.
I hate Sully, but you know sleepy would hire Hakstol, right?

Re Zucker: Sometimes it's just how things happen. It doesn't need to be Brassard level, but sometimes guys for whatever reason don't put it together with the new team.

Re Mantha: I wouldn't split Malkin and Kapanen, but after typing that reply I remembered Kapanen can play either wing. Kapanen-Malkin-Mantha could be interesting, but you better be damn sure if you're taking on that cap hit . . .

You need scoring depth in this league. I severely doubt the front office sees Zucker as an inefficient use of cap space.

You do need scoring depth in this league, but the scoring depth actually has to score.

Trade for a winger to play with kapp and Geno. Keep Zucker-McCann-erod together. Just my opinion and is easier said than done.
