Looking forward to tomorrow's US CPI reading. Expectations are that US may have hit peak in March and we should see a slight decline in April.

The bubble is going to burst and it’s going to burst soon. Buckle up.

I wonder if the Terra/Luna sell off has anything to do with it

No, it's war. I seen same thing in Iraqie war. Gas prices thru the roof. Spiking inflation. I think Feds will have to act even stronger. Likely a major recession in 23 or 24

Inflation was going way up before the war

Do you think any Canadian marijuana firms will ever go public? Canada are known to make great vaporizers. Just got one in the mail with USB C and wireless charging and they even included 2 wireless charging power banks 5,000 mAh.

There are several publicly traded Canadian companies. Canopy Growth (WEED) has probably the largest market cap among them.

Has almost nothing to do with the war. The war may have brought it on a bit sooner, but this was inevitable and could be seen long before the war. We’re in an everything bubble, she’s going to get worse before it gets better. The war makes for a convenient excuse for poor monetary policy and banks/hedgefunds gambling away ppls retirement, but the war is at the bottom of causes for the markets plummeting.

Crypto to 100K$, any believers still?

Great opportunity to buy stocks right now. Might still go down, may take a while to come back but anybody with a 10+ years investment horizon should be throwing a bunch of money at indexes right now.
Yes, crypto to 100k is inevitable too.

I believe LUNA/TERRA blow up was orchestrated by a few bad actors. I’m following this closely to see what comes of it.

One of the most powerful nations with nukes, threatens the world with nuclear war and it's a convenient excuse?
For the markets to plummet, yes it is. The markets were going to pop long before the invasion. Only a fool couldn’t see it.

Did you foresee the crypto bubble blowing up as well?

I hope you shorted the market or at least positionned for the market to go down and benefit from it, if you say only a fool couldn't see it coming.

But let's be honest here, you didn't short the market.

I'm with you @Hope Of Glory this is another good time to reinvest. I used most of my drypowder in February when markets were down 10% though. But my regular contributions are done at lower prices and I still slowly benefit from it.

Yeah it's a great opportunity. Could take a while to pay off though, I highly doubt it rebounds as fast as it did after the early 2020 crash. Historically lost decades happen quite often, with rising interest rates it might take a while to recover. But it's fine, more time to accumulate assets at a discount.

As far as crypto goes, I don't really see BTC reaching 100K$ anytime soon. For the last year or so it followed tech really closely as far as performance goes so I don't know about this whole independent currency thing. I have a bit of money tied to crypto so I'd be happy to be wrong. Maybe when the next bubble comes crypto soars again, who knows.

I don't think right now is a very good time to buy - even with stocks down 20% off their highs they still look quite overvalued. But what do I know?

Let her go she wants to go. Drive the DOW right down to zero. I got enough cash to last me 3 years. I get hit hard. I own 270 shares of Tesla. But so won't rest of world. Either way next 3 years I don't got to worry about it

I hope the whole thing goes bottom up. S&P 500 closes $1,000 next week I say. Be best for everybody

Yeah I won't disagree that they look overpriced. But they also looked overvalued at the bottom of the 2020 crash. My point is, it's impossible to time so might as well buy on a regular basis. You're way more likely to lose money trying to time the market than if you just buy some at a regular interval.

But this is all a psychological game so don't do something that makes you uncomfortable to the point of selling if it goes down another 20%.

I’ve been saying cash was king and the market was going to implode for months. All kinds of good buys, we’re not at the bottom yet though. I don’t try to time the market when it’s comes to crypto, I dca and when it’s on the cheap, I buy more. BTC is going to drop even further before it soars back, but soar back it will.

Everything is overpriced still. She’s not done yet.

Right - yeah if you're investing a regular amount periodically you're definitely better off to continue through good and bad times.

that's nonsense. I've been in the market for almost 30 years, calling anyone a fool when it comes to the market says a lot.
Speaking of the markets MTL - was wondering if you have been following SCYX? If so, what's your take on that one? I know you like the biotechs...

I should have moved to Canada instead! Such a progressive country when it comes to weed. Do you also have something similar to "Die with Dignity" like we have here in Oregon where you can get help to end it in a peaceful way if you are gravely ill?

Check out this beauty, nobody would think it is a vaporizer! Wireless charging and USB C.

I hope it goes down to companies like Apple are trading about 3 times earnings. If you are right and we are due for major collapse. Bring it on I say!

If stock market goes the whole economy will follow. We'll all go back grand parents day, live like them. Everybody had a garden in their back years. A chicken coup to get your eggs. My grand father use to butcher a calf every fall for his yearly meat. Said it was too expensive to over winter a calf.

Well a major correction doesn’t involve going back 50-60 years in time. Look at BTC this morning as an indicator. If you think this is over you haven’t been paying attention.

Sorry that your 30 years experience couldn’t help you see the obvious.

Yes Canada has Medical Assistance In Dying (MAID)

As for weed, several US states had it legalized for recreational use before Canada. Now looks like there is a good chance for federal level to follow.
