pretty rare to find a horror movie worth watching these days imo. I think the last one I was really into was The Witch.

On the back of this comment, I watched Hellraiser last night for the first time I’m afraid to admit. Not a huge horror fan.

Thanks. Just watched it. Pretty crazy.Enron: Smartest Guys in the Room is an almost yearly re-watch for me. Absolutely bonkers.
So did you watch the 2024 French remake of Count of Monte Cristo?I always loved this concept. The ultimate revenge fantasy.
I have seen the Jim Caviezel version as well along with the Chamberlan too. And the other version I have seen is one with Gerard Depardieu on TV-5, it's a big budget mini-series from France. This one is my favorite. Great dialogue, writing, cinematography. It helps a lot that it was a mini-series so they had the time to develop the relationships, etc...I intend to see the latest French version as well.
I would love to see if there are other versions from France and GB.
1 - Margin Call , haven't seen it
2 - Too big too fail, seen it, dramatization, gives you an idea how we botched it when it comes to corps
3 - Enron: smartest guys in the room , seen it, documentary, ..absolutely crazy what these guys were doing.. it's like wolf of wall street a bit except NOT FUNNY AT ALL
4 - Inside Job , seen it, documentary , one of the great docu's I've EVER seen, narrated by Matt Damon, explains TOP to Bottom just what the hell exactly happened to create the 2008 recession and housing bubble crisis, out of this world stuff
5 - Inside Job, haven't seen it, I would guess it's a dramatization of the docu
6 - The ascent of money , haven't seen it
7 - The Corporation , seen it, documentary, basically just explains how Corps came to be..and how they develop strangleholds..
8 - The big short , seen it, dramatization starring Steve Carell, Brad Pitt and Christian bale, but really, it's Ryan Gosling who steals the show
Also explains the 2008 recession/housing bubble crisis
But Inside Job does a better job I find
I'd also recommend
The Money Masters (1996) with Noam Chomsky
Basically discusses the concepts of money, debt, taxes, and their development from biblical times onward
Also gives a huge truth about something terribly important that happened in 1910ish that allowed banks to be allowed to gamble with your money...
Just awful

It is excellent. I saw it and really enjoyed it!
Who has this as a their go to movie this time of year?
The VVVVVVVVVVVVVVitch was great but not sure i'd call this an horror movie. Two horror movies that were so close to get it but ultimately failed a bit were Occulus And Sinister. They understood the concept of what a horror movie should be but the execution was not the best. The first Conjuring was good.

I’m generally not a fan of that genre but the only horror production that got me hooked was the 2014 series, The Strain. The VVVVVVVVVVVVVVitch was great but not sure i'd call this an horror movie.
