I find nitpicking to be uninsightful and uninteresting. What matters is the story being told within its own internal logic, as storytelling is largely about metaphor, and there is such a thing as "world-building".

The same is true of paiting. If you criticize for not being photo-realistic, you demonstrate ignorance and not knowledge.

Well that was a good season finale! I have to say the season 5 of GoT started really slowly and was a bit disappointing at first but the last 4 episodes have been great!

I can't believe we have to wait another 10 months for the next season now!

So you're agreeing with me? I had interior logic problems with Interstellar for instance. Tons of them.

And yeah, it's a good analogy - photorealism in the age of mechanical reproduction is nearly pointless anyway.

They up the ante every year but the show is getting a bit stale I find. I'm not sure what the problem is but something's wrong - too many plotlines? Peter Dinklage's acting carried the show thus far, his reduced screentime hurt a bit too.

I think we agree on the idea and might agree on the application.

There are problens in interstellar and it is not obvious how they scale relative to the good parts. You respect the good parts. I'm enamoured by them.

The one exception i make now is biopics. I don't see the value of phoney biopics like Imitation Game.

****ing game of thrones.... so good, so hard to watch. i guess i like torturing myself.

i swear to ****ing god, if --> Jon <-- is proper dead, im gonna write an angry post about it. seriously though, i won't be happy

i also like that the showrunners basically finished the season exactly like martin wrote his last book, cliffhangers galore, which is something i was absolutely certain they wouldn't do, its kinda crappy tv, but they pulled it off i think.

its a nice thing though, they basically just said alright, we won't spoil your cliffhangers, there, we just gave you 10 more months to finish your novel before we have to go ahead and spoil them.

now I have to wait 10 months before knowing if what is essentially half the cast is dead

Stephen Dillane is so ****ing good, so many nuances last episode. christ...

Best action movie of all time. Will be remembered as one of the great movies for its genre forever. Please don't go, if you don't at least like the original movie then you should just stick with the avengers, jurassic park and buy yourself a couple justin bieber cds on the way home.

Oh my we have a keyboard warrior over here.

Before judging someone you should read the post history of that person in that very board. Try, at least.

I cannot never understand people being mad cause others have not falling in love their their favorite movie. There's a lot of great movies that people have had no desire to see.

I launched the Mad Max questionment as a debate about why sometime there's movies that are praised but we have no desire to see. Then you responded like a 14 years girl. Thanks for playing.

I think that maybe you have no desire to see it because a lot of people are telling you that you absolutely HAVE to go witness the great cultural revelation.

Maybe that's it.

There's also the thing about people saying it's one big action scene non-stop and I'm not sure I want to see that. I remember seeing Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and it was non-stop action and I wanted to tear my eyes out. So since then I try to pick movies that have a few pauses and character moments.

There was a lot of action but it was not non stop, i do not know why people wrote that. The pauses were important.

One of the problens with the action in T:RotF is that the robots all look the same, so there is scant visual storytelling going on. It's mostly noise. What i remember about the movie was worrying about how the taxpayers in that universe would pay for all the property damage. Regardless, the action was between visually and otherwise indistinguishable robots.

I highly doubt the next book will be released prior to next season. And besides, they've managed to make the show "different enough" that picking up the book 2-3 years later (almost not kidding) is not going to hurt as much.

This is especially true for the last book that is most likely coming out in 2025...

HAHA! That would be one awesome 14 year old girl.

Jurassic World was entertaining, but there were a lot of "so bad it's good moments."

The ending left me speechless and not in a good way.

However, I still enjoyed it. Probably the third best movie I've seen in theatres this year, behind Age of Ultron and Mad Max.

Is ********* really dead?

(possible spoilers)

personally, i dont buy it

theres a good reason the lady in red rode back to castle black in time.

for the REAL azor ahai maybe?

One of my theories as well... We haven't explored his origins so it wouldn't make sense to just end it there

Get the feeling Melisandre is going to go Thoros/Berric on him

[spoil]Martin already said Jon Snow's birth story will have a lot of impact later on. He already reveal to the producers what are his plans for that story arc. That's why I think Jon Snow will come back somehow and Melisandre reviving him is the story that makes more sense. [/spoil]

It's no spoiler since it didn't happen in the book yet but I'll leave this article here for people who might be interested. Great read on last night final scene and analysis on what could happen

Spoilers in the article title

[spoil]In the books, Thoros resurrects someone else important, but in the show’s narrative, it was necessary to establish that resurrections can and do happen in this universe.

This is also what I was thinking about, why bring up the resurrection plot in the show if they don't do it? The character that was revived in the book, I doubt it will happen in the show but they needed to make it known anyway. Why?[/spoil]
