Mitchmagic, my last couple posts were rude - I'm sorry. That was u necessary and unhelpful.

Now, for some more competent disagreement ...

I don't think I'm overanalyzing TD season two at all. It looks like 1, 000 words for two hours of television. I am certain that people far wiser and sharper than both of us will write a lot more. You were arguing that the series is a cliche, that was your main argument, so I listed three different original aspects of the story and explained them.

You say that you have no time to waste, but in all due respect you have invested as much time as I have discussing the show, you merely spread over a larger number of smaller posts.

Your new argument, that season one was only good because of the two leads and the director, is a non-starter, as all three of those parties place TD at the top of their resume. Few had heard of the great Cary Fukunaga prior to TD season one.

I just watched a 2 hour long car chase where the main actor was a plank of wood but the graphics were amazing. Every time they wanted to be "deep" or "brooding" you could easily tell because they practically looked into the camera and said "I want to be deep and brooding now". Subtlety is really over-rated imo.

Am I the only one to be completely turned off by the proliferating shaky cam in most TV shows?

I mean, in an action movie, I get it. You might want the camera to shake a little bit for dynamics purpose. But in a TV show? Sometimes, the director has to remember that the camera shouldn't be there in the first place. So you want it as still as possible. Let the images/landscape do the talking.

Terminator Genesys isn't as bad as the critics made it out to be. It's not the best be far of the series, nothing beats T2 but was an entertaining summer movie.

If its better than T3 I'd watch it. T3 wasn't that bad but obviously not as good as the first 2. First Terminator's the one for me. So raw and the soundtrack's amazing.

One thing is certain:

Ah-nuld knows how to entertain

Was talking about that with coworkers (small talk). Do you guys remember any football movie where highschool players looks like actual highschool kids and not 25-30 year old adult?

Edit: Or maybe it's because we don't have the same highschool kids in Canada lol

The last episode of TD was terrible. They have to make some changes because right now it looks like this season is gonna keep sucking.

Well, it's not just with sports movies. It's basically that but whenever kids are involved.

They'll hire a 22yo girl with a babyface to play a 14yo girl and it just looks... strange.

Another one, on a slightly related issue, was The Last of Us (videogame). There's 2 kids in that game (3 if you count the DLC) and the voice acting is done by adults. Really creates a strange effect. I mean, when it's a cartoon like the Simpsons, OK. They all have funny voices anyways. But when you're going for realism, you shouldn't cut the corners like that.

Highschool kids are terrible actors, I have no problem with them being kept out of movies.

I'm 80% sure it's a union thing. For voice acting maybe not, but there are different union rules if you have minors on set.

Pretty sure although it's a shot in the dark

Sure, union laws and such might be a factor. Actor's performance and capabilities too.

But still, a 20-something actor can't play a 14 yo. kid. They just can't get it right, even if they look sorta young.

There are labour laws preventing child actors from working very long hours.

The Breakfast Club and Mean Girls did fine without 15 year-old actors ...

Watched Utopia (two seasons of 6 episodes) this weekend. I recommend it. They have it on CraveTv.
