Portait of a Lady on Fire. Goddamn my heart. What a film.

Page 28.

I watched it and loved it. I didn't think a movie with that pace could keep my attention, but it did.

Loved the main characters and their interaction -- how it all slowly unfolded. The director (or is that, directress) was simply masterful. The issue with this kind of film is always, how does it end. What happens. It ... kinda ends and it doesn't. The ending left me, pensive and in wonderment.

The film is phenomenal. The way it’s shot, the acting. It’s a slow burn but if you’re into the art of subtlety, this movie could not be more perfect.

Damn that was quick! I’m glad that you watched it. The ending really shook me, I kept thinking about it for a long time afterwards. The film was incredible in its method to portray eroticism with just looks, gestures and words. A stark contrast to another all-female romantic film in Blue is the Warmest Colour which was essentially a long porno (and clearly directed by a man).

I’m going to have to check out this director’s other films because clearly she’s a genius.

The scene in the car though was like at least one hour long and it was the most painful thing Ive ever watched.

Villeneuve has to be one of if not at the top right now in Directors, I fully trust him with this, just like he knocked it out the park with Blade Runner

So many people I didnt realize were in this tho lol, Aquaman to a Josh Brolin that just looks like hes dying to betray Chalamet lol

Looking forward to seeing it, The Lynch version meant well, but just didnt pull through overall

Imo, if you broden the scope, you'll find plenty differences between the less popular among them. I agree the major ones have a lot of overlap, but aside from them, there are quite a few that stand out. V for Vendetta (another Alan Moore creation along Watchmen), Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy, Constantine, just to name a few.

V was excellent. I try to watch that in November every couple years.

A really good ensamble cast was The Departed. Really good role for Marky mark Esp with that funky bunch of actors. Leo, Damon, Jack, sheen, etc.

There are plenty of reasons to like the Witcher:

- Yennefer
- Henry Cavill is godlike
- That one song who became viral



I believe the song is in Episode 3 or something like that. Maybe it's spoiler alert. (or is it?)

I like this young female guitar player that does a Russian version. Jesus you just put that song in my head again.

Every frame was a beautiful photograph

And I don't think I'll ever look at page 28 of any book the same way again.

Stunning cinematography, mostly all of it executed within a limited location. It's a beautifully voyeuristic experience.
