Yeah, but they'd rather rule the world by feeding dumb people crap entertainment than proper master pieces.

Why would they exert more energy than necessary? Look through the thread, there's loads of people eating up their non-effort, even when it's outside their core demographic. Watching media outlets run cover for Captain Marvel is likely to be far more entertaining than the film itself.

Because I ain't dumb and I like to think people ain't dumb but I know they are.

Anyway, Marvel movies can be hit or miss. You can have duds like Black Panther (That was critically acclaimed because its so black centric... Huh... so lame) and you can have awesome movies like IW and Ragnarok, but mostly duds.

Ragnorok, Winter Soldier, Civil War, GOTG1, Iron Man 1, Avengers 1 and IW were great.

Doctor Strange I thought was decent.

Most of the others were mostly meh to me, but Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 I disliked.

On another note, Penny Dreadful is coming back, but new cast and new setting (Los Angeles).

I liked enough, so maybe a little below Doctor Strange territory for me. I think Paul Rudd is a good Scott Lang and I do like his loser friends as comic relief. I know standalone movies are important, but I was never as engaged with Ant-Man movies as the others.

I should have been more clear, I didn't hate any of the movies, but I liked some more than others. Even Thor 2 and Iron Man 3 had moments, but they are on the bottom of my list.

Back to Ant-Man, #2 was weird the way it ended (saving the mom and letting Ghost go). It felt like there was another 45 minutes filmed but they cut it out.

Black panther might be the most overrated movie of all time
It’s like critics were scared to call it out. And now to be nominated for best movie when IW was 20x the movie is ridiculous
Stock script. Villains were weak and the casino scene was complete rip off of how many Bond movies
I liked iron man 3 more than black panther

What's funnier is when they say it was the first "black superhero" comics/movie ever

Yeah let's forget about some others, Blade was probably the most decent one and good enough that they made 3 movies out of it.

Furthermore, making a good Black Panther movie is so easy to do. What we saw sure wasn't it. It was so cliche it's like they did everything in their power to suck to coolness out of Black Panther and I never thought it could be possible, that has to take some serious skills. It was about on the level of Aquaman another cliche-ladden movie with brother vs brother and all that crap.

------------

So umm Riverdale I'm at Season 3 episode 12 and I think I've had enough of this show. They seemed to have exausted every damn little elements of that Universe, they keep returning to the well over and over, there has been like what 5 Goblyn Kings...? this whole role playing game it never ends.

Agreed with all your Marvel stuff.

Now as far as Penny Dreadful, the draw for me was the Victorian British monsters. I was hoping a follow up to these characters. To further see Mr. Hyde and so forth. They had accomplished what Universal could not do with their monster library, updating these old monsters in an interesting fresh new take. So I have zero interest in this. Same problem with AMC's Terror. First season was so compeling, the whole setting on late 19th century race to the North pole. Changing the setting for the second season is sort of missing the point of the appeal of why I was attracted to the Terror in the first place.

The SJW crowd would tell you he's pictured as a criminal and is an anti-hero, which shouldn't count, somehow.

Nevermind he kills droves of mostly white men.

Anyway, Blade was great. Black Panther, not so much.

Well took a while but I managed to finish the movie Casino, a bit long but great acting from Joe Pesci as always. Sharon Stone was a total rocket, in her physical prime for sure. Another Scorcese masterpiece, almost as good and consistent as Tarantino.

Man I am not a fan of Tarantino at all. I don't know why, I just don't like his schtick. I know I'm likely in a minority.

The trailer for the new Netflix Motley Crue story called The Dirt popped up on YouTube for me today. Listened to some Motley Crue back in the day so I'll check this out on March 22nd. It's like Mark Wahlberg in the movie Rockstar all over again. :)

Just re-watched Django Unchained. Jamie Fox, Christopher Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L Jackson...what an unreal cast with probably the greatest director this world has ever seen.

Season 6 of Chef's Table just dropped. The series has become a force. It is perhaps the very best original series on Netflix right now and it is showing no signs of slowing down.

I quit Riverdale after 1 season...was going to continue it soon but I take it I shouldn't?

Read the book when it came out and have been waiting for the movie, looks to have gone low budget as they initially planned to have Christopher Walken playing Ozzy which would have been interesting

Still will probably catch it tho

Im done watching the 3 seasons of The Expanse. I really enjoyed it, a great sci-fi story happening on Earth, Mars and on the asteroid belt between mars and venus. I found the scenario intriguing and very well written. Sometimes special effect are kind of low budget but it get better as the seasons progresses. The first 3 seasons were on Syfy network, amazon prime video bought the series and will be producing the 4th season.

Come on now, QTip can go hit or miss. He's not the greatest director in cinema, NEC.

There are quite a few names in front of him. Starting with Kubrick and Darabont.

Spaghetti Westerns don't have great scripts and the action is mostly sensationalistic. It will never beat the depth and beauty of a movie like Shawshank or Green Mile.
