a very recent guy who didnt meet even limited expectations - Michael Paliotta, thought he had the potential to maybe develop the way Pionk has (not necessarily all the points, but as 2d/3d pair/depth RHD...

I'd like to give a special shout-out to Jussi Markkanen, Steve Valiquette, Jason Labarbera and Jamie McLennan who all managed to get starts for Rangers during the 03-04 season backing up Dunham after Balckburn did his shoulder.

And also Johann Holmqvist who I think started at least 1 game in the 4 seasons before that one...

Jussi Markkanen...the Juss was loose. Remember when he started Game 7 of the SCF when Roloson was hurt?

Since we're on the topic of backups, let's go through the official jabroni backups of the last 30 years.

Boris Rousson in 1991.
Craig Millen who backed up Beezer for like 5 games in 1991-92 when Richter was holding out.
Kay Whitemore
Jason Muzzatti
Vitali Yeremyev
Guy Hebert who was very out of shape lol.

Chris Holt who played a game in 2005-06. And I saw Matt Zaba play in that Montreal debacle in 2009-10.

He had moments where he was really really good. Scored a beautiful goal opening night 2005 on a give and go with Steve Ruccin.

He was playing really well in the 2007 stretch run and then got hurt. He did have a huge goal in the Atlanta series.

Jussi Markkanen was better known as Jussi Rebound in Edmonton lol

I do remember John Moore being a key piece in the Gaborik trade. Because he could skate and was American, he was the new Mcdonagh. One of the worst hockey IQ dmen I've seen.
