Anybody mention ole Eddie Johnstone? Mid 70s until the early 80s he played for us.

Heartbroken when they dealt Johnstone, Mio and Duguay to Detroit. And at how soft Hubor was.

And don't forget even with all the grit and guts he had a ton of points the year the Espo retired. I don't remember exactly but it was over 30 goals for sure. Due wore it on his sleeve for this team, should have never been traded (and that trade was crap).

One of my first memories of watching the game is from 1986 when Larouche came back from exile and went on a goal scoring bonanza. I wore #24 in my playing days as a result.

Used to love James Patrick. An underrated all-around D-man. Will always be disappointed he was gone before '94.

Ridley, LaRouche, & Miller had unbelievable chemistry at the end of the '86 season, which continued all the way through the run to the Conference Finals. Pretty sure LaRouche & Ridley lead the team in playoff goals. That was such a fun team to watch.

Espo was a complete idiot for tearing that team apart. Those two guys had such bright futures & were solid players for the next decade.

No one remembers big- time busts Brian Lawton and Alexandre Daigle

I will be in Prague next week Wednesday for the Sparta Prague game vs Mladá Boleslav by the way, if you want to meet up for a drink.
You are really AMAZING. ;) How is it possible. You will be in Hodonin during the weekend and next Wednesday you are going to another match in Prague. Where do you get the time? I would like to meet you for a drink.. but this time I'm not able to tell you if I will be at work or not. Do you already have a ticket? Are you going with friends?

Yeah, going with the friends from Florida. I took the week off to spend some time with them and we are staying in Prague for 3 days. They've never been to a hockey game in Europe so this will blow them away.

Carpenter for Ridley/Miller might very well be the worst trade this franchise has ever made. It's neck and neck with Hodge for Middleton.

The typical Ranger kick in the ass was how Carpenter transformed himself into a checking forward and helped the Devils win a cup years later.

Lawton was another Esposito busted trade that turned into a 2nd trade... We gave up Mark Tinordi for him & then shipped him to Hartford a few months later with Don Maloney for Carey Wilson.

And Wilson finished that season on like a 110 point pace (55 points in 41 games).

Then Neil Smith takes over, Wilson gets injured, then gets traded back to Hartford for JODY HULL!

Hard to believe, but Mattias Norstrom began his career here.

Oh, yes. Used to hear "Hit 'em with your purse, Poti" pretty much at every game

Followed by "Go eat some peanut butter!" which was downright mean but sort of creative simultaneously.

Anyone mention Winter Classic hero, Mike Rupp, yet? His chirp on another ex-Ranger, Jody Shelley, was a great moment from the 24/7 HBO series.

Anyone recall Jason Ward? And Mark Hardy.
I recall Hardy being an ok third pairing d-man

Joe Patterson. Was acquired a bit before Nilan was as the Rangers were getting physically manhandled that year. Patterson was just a pugilist, but Nilan was actually a good player. And as mean as anyone.
