Cards game postponed again tonight due to at least one more positive test. What an absolute farce this “season” is.

With the cancellation of this series, the Cards are faced with 55 games in 52 days after not having a real spring training to get up to speed and get conditioning in order. They’re going to be devastated by injuries if they do actually continue playing.

The Cardinals now have 45 days to play 55 games. At what point do they just call it?

Cards won their division and made the NLCS last year. That’s hardly mediocre.
They won the worst division in baseball and got swept in the NLDS after barely beating a team from the second worse division in baseball.

I would say that is mediocre relative to Cardinal expectations.

For a team ranking 2nd in attendance and 8th in revenue, I would assume they would try to be more competitive, especially with their previous seasons being worse and having no realistic hope of competing for a World Series.

It’s time to rebuild or spend. But, living in between will get middling results, as they have these past few years. Competing for one of the worst divisions in the MLB with no real chance to compete for the World Series is underwhelming to me. It’s become a bit Groundhog Day like.

with the postponement of today's game, the Cards would have to play double-headers on the 15th, 17th, and 19th with single games scheduled in between.

Talk about a recipe to flat-line your pitching for this year and likely future years (although I think there will be a strike or lock-out next year).

Far past the time to call this 'season' off.

Two wins in one day, not a bad way to begin the restart. I live in Chicago and get the White Sox feed, guys in the studio are furious and I'm loving it.

Also found the seven inning games a lot of fun, but probably wouldn't feel that way if the Cards had been the ones trailing all day. Playoffs here we come!

I know Carlson was the talk of the town today, but O'Neill is developing into a legit power bat with the way he's reading pitches. I always had high hopes for him as a player, but he looks like a perfect #4 bat in the lineup.

I'm honestly excited for the future of the Cards. If O'Neill, Dejong, Wong, and Edman can continue to play at this level while the prospects like Gorman, Carlson, and Herrera develop well, the Cards might become a dangerous team yet again. And that's ignoring the young pitching potential, which is already developing well.

I liked Gomber as a starter when he first came in for the Cards, but if this is the package, it's a hell of a deal

I’m blown away by that deal. The Cards didn’t give up any of their top-5 prospects, maybe even top-10 depending on who you ask, and acquired money from the deal. Even if Arenado doesn’t hit well away from Coors, there is no complaint for the price at this point.

Quite the answer to everyone saying the Cards haven’t added anything to their roster.

I have mostly stopped following baseball in recent years for a combination of reasons, but still half pay attention to the Cards.

This deal seems crazy, doesn't it? I saw a fan comment online that it seems like a Ryan O'Reilly type deal where you get a superstar for a collection of non-elite spare parts. Wasn't the Goldschmidt trade similar? The Cardinals don't seem to make many "big" moves, but when they do they really go big.

Hope they sign Yadi next, both him and Waino should be career Cardinals.
