Clayton Keller has better 5v5 numbers this year than Draisaitl put congrats to him for putting up points against a team that's tanking I guess.
lol so? Keller his having a career year, doesn't mean Draisaitl is a pp merchant like your moronic original comment states. can you really call it tanking when your team is a perpetual joke and bottom of the league every single year?

Zone starts have a minimal impact on production. The overwhelming majority of shifts start on the fly.
zone starts are a great indicator of how a coach uses their players. high defensive zone starts show who the coach likes to use in defensive situations

That's like saying Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby put up a bunch of PP points in thier prime. Low end first liners without Jagr and Malkin on at even strength. You can't be serious when you put up a hypothetical stat that would never happen to dumb down his stats. In this case you probably should apply the rule to all top players. That analysis has no merit or lacks basic common sense.

Your telling us if Draisaitl played the entire season with McDavid he would be at about 165 points ? Let's go both ways ? But if he didn't he would be less than 85 ? ...lol.
When was Crosby's 5v5 production ever "low end first line" lol. Didn't matter who was on his line...

Because most of the time that “opinion” is a lukewarm troll attempt, it’s not that hard to understand. Leafs fans post more in Oilers players threads than does our own fanbase.
Seems like you almost know what it's like to be a Leafs fan. we get it from all teams all the time. dont believe me? go check out any Leafs thread. more fans from other teams than Leafs fans all giving it.
fans from other teams like to dish it but dont like to take it

Indeed, but it still isn't a significant factor effecting productivity.
do we have any data on that? I feel like a coach using a player in more defensive situations would absolutely have an effect on production. we already know it has a massive effect on increasing xga numbers (which I why I dont value them much in evaluating forwards)

Oilers fans sure do have some sort of inferiority complex.
I think you have it backwards. oilers fans celebrating their players success and defending him, vs leafs fans looking for any excuse to devalue his level of success

No, the fact that he's not even top 10 in EV points and his team gets outscored when he's on the ice at 5v5 means hes a powerplay merchant.

In 2018 (1.7 p/60), 2021 (1.8 p/60).
6% on ice sh% in 2018, and only played 55gp after returning from injury in '21.

He's been well over 2.0 p/60 any given 3 year sample.

It's been studied, and it doesn't have enough of an impact to even bother adjusting for it anymore.

where does drai rank over the last 5 years in EV scoring? pretty sure its top 10. he's actually even in 5on5 scoring so far this year, and thats with a sub 900sv% (thanks to Campbell). I understand hockey isn't very popular in arizona but maybe learn to look up things before you start mouthing off

"its been studied" isn't a source lol. I think its silly to believe zone starts dont have an effect on scoring. we know zone entries and zone exits are a key microstat that leads to offence, doesn't it follow that starting the shift already I the ozone would lead to easier offence?

Read my post. It’s satire and sadly, it’s also you.

You’re in denial. If Leon Draisaitl was doing this on Leafs, he’d receive statsflation and be given an era-adjusted 215 point equivalency a for his 110 points. However, the statsflation wouldn’t apply to Connor because he is nonsensically a product of himself. Yes, you read that right. Connor, by virtue of being Connor McDavid, is inflating his own stats by being himself. Statsflation and mental-Cirque du Soliel only applies to Leaf players and HF sweethearts like the Hurricanes.

If he was on the Leafs scoring 50G/ 50A 4 years straight he’d win the Hart trophy every year. Just admit it. This is not about Leon. You don’t watch the Oilers. You hate the Oilers. So you make a non-sensical claim like you did above. What’s worse is the HF-hive mind will fall to their knees and believe you. It’s disgusting.

You want to understand how good Leon is? I know you stopped following after the first round. He lead the playoffs in scoring without going to the Stanley Cup final. He scores in the regular season. He destroys in the playoffs. He can repeat this level of production in any situation and ON ANY TEAM.
Man I haven't been active on this forum in a while but christ... you seem to have a persecution complex my friend.

From a non-Leafs/Oilers fan.

Lots of people don’t realize that Mcdavid also benefits playing with Drais. Does that make Mcdavid a product of Drais? Of course not, that’s also why it’s stupid to say Drais is a product of Mcdavid.

Anybody that watched an Oiler game could see this is not a Crosby/Kunitz case happening.
