Today Lenni's line got it going a bit better as the game went on, and had a decent chunk of chances by the end of it. Hopefully they'll manage to keep it up, try to gather some confidence back (despite the somewhat embarrassing powerplay), and get on the scoresheet. I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow.

(Oh, and the Wednesday game was a big ol’ series of oofs into a 0-3 loss that kinda just culminated in Lenni driving the net with 15sec left, the opposing defenceman deciding to guide him into it and the goalie, the goal from the puck that was left in front getting called off, and Lenni getting a 2min penalty. With the way things went in that one was a bit too upsetti spaghetti to post then.)

And despite their powerplay still trying its best to ruin their spirits Lenni's line was a big part in the 4-2 win.

Lenni clocking a season-high 20:04 TOI, with an assist, a +2, 6 shot attempts & involvement in other chances.

Got his shot deflected into the net:

Next game on the 26th.

A real solid game throughout for Lenni and the boys. Kept being more involved, and there was good chances from his line to get a couple more with the looks they had, with also one goal taken back with the video review after a wraparound from Lenni.

Couple of the chances from the first:

A nice little playoff-ish defensive back-to-back against Malek's Ilves that's at the top of the league. Lenni and his line had a solid amount of chances (5 shot attempts x2) especially today, with not being on the defensive end as much. Had his season-high TOI of 20:18 today also.

And now a nice assist near to the other post for a redirection on the PP again!

Some recent success on the PP hopefully a sign of good things to come also in the future with how much especially the first unit has needed freshening up.

Oh yeah, and the game on Wednesday was in short just a struggle for him and most of the team*. Had a penalty shot, but his wrister was stopped.

*4 goals in last 3 games. After 39gp: 3rd least GF (102), 2nd least GA (98). Injuries/illnesses have taken a bit of a toll.

too long since my last full game lenni viewing
  • puck play continues to look improved. confident handling, not really fumbling it anymore, still trying things. that ability, for example, to challenge defenders 1 on 1 or more easily drive the net with possession will help overcome the skating not being great. also complements his already good puck protection ability
  • still seeing more expanded passing ideas although hes maybe not as experimental with it (in a good way i suppose, he had his turnovers). mixing in delays, fake shots, give and go's, etc. never really just thinking shot on the puck, hes keeping an eye out for teammates in high danger areas
  • couple highlight reel set ups dancing through traffic (this isnt the lenni you know from his draft year lol). great job baiting the D/timing his passes, and some silky moves in the process. shame none of them ended up going
  • i actually didnt love his defensive game today, thought he came off more passive than im used to seeing. fine positionally, couple good touches with his stick, but not that much of a deterrent to the other team. also thought he was too lax with the puck on breakout attempts on the pp
solid stuff offensively today, playmaking game was impressive and stood out more than his usual style. continue to appreciate all the great coverage from juzmo/hisch13r and others
