Under the radar thing with Lenni is that Ässät will have Aleksi Heimosalmi joining them from the Hurricanes camp in the coming.... days? weeks?, seems like he's had a good showing with the Canes, he'll be serving Lenni those sweet passes to the Ovie spot in no time.

Well aware of you lots hatred for anything Canes, but trust me, this is a good thing.

And to be completely open and honest, as an Avs fan, I hate all of you too.

I know it has to have been answered, but when can we have him?
I don't know how reliable it is, but I usually look to elite prospects and the contract info under the prospect facts to understand when their current contract is up:

Says 24/25 for Lenni.

New avatar, what do you think?

This board is Aleski Heimosalmi-friendly.

Yeah that doesn't actually mean anything, every Liiga contract comes with an NHL caveat. He could be signed by Ässät until the heat death of the universe but the second Lenni has an NHL contract offer it vaporizes.

Ässät are my hometown team. Played through their junior system. I watch every game. Have watched the last roughly 10 years that they've been available.

This is their gameplan this year. It always looks like an absolute shitshow the first 20-30 minutes. But they get to second period and look at that, they're up 1-0 or 1-2, they defend well, and they definitively have the best goalie in the league (Rubin). It just works. It's not pretty. But it works.

And having a ace (pun completely intended) up their sleeve like Lenni is just icing on the cake.
Yeah I'm aware of their style but I've seen like half of their games this year and I felt they didnt get dominated that badly in any games. Especially the 1st line. Felt like anytime I saw Lenni on the ice it was either him defending a 90 second shift in his own end or scoring a goal.

Yup. When the Devils want him and Lenni wants to come over, Devils just pay some amount of money to break the contract.

I was pretty sure he was going to stay for another year after this, but if he keeps torching the league this badly, maybe he'll have a chance next season.

The contract doesn’t matter because of the transfer agreement. If we sign Lenni, and he came to camp next year and made the team, then he would be NJ Devil in 2024-25.

His team would get some money for the “transfer fee”.

He can’t be assigned to AHL during the first year of his NHL contract though, so it’s the NHL or back to Liiga.

When does their season end? Can he squeak in a couple "just because" games at the end of the year this year? Pretending he looks ready and the team could use it. All hypothetically speaking.

Last reg season game for Ässät is March 12. Playoffs usually lasts around mid May nowadays. Do with that information what you want.

I'll say they make playoffs and win a round, Ässät season ends around early April. Then comes the WHC considerations. This keeps up and Lenni's pretty much a lock to make Team Finland.

If he went to WHC:

Can we skip until Lenny will start to play with Devils?

With his iq he will be much better player after 5 years of experience.
Too bad I missed his today game. Even when they aren't good, its always joy to watch him, even with mistakes. Can't wait until he will start to train with Bratt on his skating and edge work. Its really interesting how far he will go with his development through years.

I'm ready to claim it, Lenni is the best prospect in hockey. I've seen enough 10 second highlights

Finally, I’m not the only one who sees the truth. And how can those Hutson supporters say anything with a straight face. I mean Hameenaho must have at least ten short highlights we,be seen. This horse race is so over. Now if only someone would post the redraft on the main boards so we can share the facts and sober well reasoned analysis.

One of my best friends became a lifelong Avs fan because I was a Devils fan and he wanted to actively root against me during the 2001 finals. Needless to say the Avs are probably 3rd on my hated team list from that brutal loss. 2003 helped ease the pain a bit though.
