oh im 100% Lehkonen can land a 2nd round pick hes still an RFA and GMs that want him will not pick him up for hes offense hes a really good defensive player/PK specialist that will occasionally chip in offensively hes actually a great 3rd line player to have i just dont see why Habs should trade him if we cant get more then a 2nd and hes not worth a 1st imo

Keep telling yourself that. Prices are always less than you hope. I don't see a single team paying a 2nd or more for him.

I don't care if we trade Nam, and I don't care if you trade Lehkonen. Simply telling you, you won't get a 2nd round pick for a 3rd line player.

Coleman, Goodrow, Savard, Foligno, Skjei, Athanasiou (2x second), JGP (1x first & 1x 2nd), Dillon, Scandella, Greene, Janmark, Palmieri and Zajac are all players who netted a 2nd round pick or better at the TDL the past two year with most of them being a first but yet there’s no chance Lehkonen gets one back.

Lmao. Out of the lot, there’s probably just Coleman (maybe) and JGP who have a bigger impact than Lehkonen (and he would be the youngest of the list as well). None on the list are actual top 6/top 9 players - or were - when traded

i will because obviously you dont know nothing about Lehkonen besides looking at hes stats

There are lots of decent defensive players in the league, and Lehkonen is not really better than lots of them. You guys are acting like 15 teams are just licking their chops at the thought of adding him.

Can't compare defenceman prices and forward prices (defenders usually hold more value at the deadline), so that eliminates most of what you posted. Coleman, Goodrow, Foligno provide physicality on a much higher level than Lehkonen which brings their value up, seeing as they score just as much and play similar or better defence. AA only got 2 seconds because he had the potential to be a bigger scorer than he turned out to be. Janmark from what I see is your only similar player and having watched both him and Lehkonen play, I think Janmark is better. The Isles trade was acquiring vets who are held in higher regard than Lehkonen which is why they got a 2nd. Also, they may have been an overpay.

There were Wings fans convinced we would get a 2nd+ a prospect for Luke Glendening for 3 or 4 years in a row. Luke isn't as good offensively, but his motor is higher than Lehkonen and at least as good defensively, while being a top faceoff guy in the league. We clearly didn't get a good enough offer as we never even traded him his UFA year. Lehkonen will get you a 3rd and if that isn't enough you will keep him. Also want to point out, there are other pending free agents that play similar roles to Lehkonen so he isn't the only option for teams, which will bring prices down.

every year its the same thing on HF boards at the td. I have something you want well give me 25 1st rounders. If I want your guy ( the guy that is not even worth a bag of pucks and nobody in the league wants your garbage even for free) SO why not for once just wait to see what the GM's actually do.

Along with Price and Chiarot . Montreal fans are asking too much but then again it only takes 1 idiot GM to overpay so that gives you 31 chances .
Price isn't available and won't be traded .
Chiarot will likely be traded for a 1st rd pick 22
Lehkonen will likely remain in Montreal if all is being offered is a late 2nd or 3rd rd pick.

I'm not sure what you're watching, but it certainly doesn't match either the reporting around Lehkonen's potential availability or Lehkonen's publicly available underlying numbers, which indicated he's been a top-10 defensive forward in the NHL this season.

Its fine that Wings fans were convinced that Glendening would get 2nd +, but that's an irrelevant comparison.

I like Lehkonen. If the best we can get is a 2nd then we should keep him. There is no need to trade him really.

We can close this one, we don’t need two threads discussing the same players value and possible trade
