The Rangers need to bring in a taskmaster to be the coach. Someone who has no f***s to give what your salary is, and will hold players accountable. We haven't had that since Torts. Literally a minute after Panarin almost gave the game away by throwing a weak pass along the blueline for a turnover....they try the exact same pass. It didn't get picked off (barely) the second time, but they just don't learn. I don't remember which of you said it, but I completely agree: How long are our kids going to even WANT to be here if they carry the team on their backs to have a lead down the stretch, only to be benched while the guys with all the minutes/opportunities/$$$ blow the game?

9 day break coming up. If Drury wanted to fire Gallant, now is the time. Who is replacing him?

Still think it’s not likely
As much as he f***ed up tonight, this roster is still crap. We have so much dead weight starting with our highest paid F & 2nd highest paid D. GG needs to be better for sure, but Scotty Bowman isn't winning a Cup with this clusterf*** of a team.

You didn’t answer the question
I'll answer: nobody.

Trotz wants a break imo and Boudreau is just another retread that everyone will hate when he starts in with his own habits.

It's not happening mid-season.

If you want to argue we should bring in a coach that requires a more consistent effort from guys like Panarin, I'm not saying you're wrong.

They flipped two players. And it was the most predictable and correct change in history. Check my post history.
And benched their best line for the most important part of the game.

C’mon man, I know you’re always gonna side with the coach but his decisions killed us tonight.

Like I’m cool with Mika and Vesey. Panarin is not the guy there at the end. He nearly blew it in the last minute

I just don’t understand why the kid line gets basically demoted in the third. They were dominating the game every time they were on the ice while other lines were struggling.

Gallant loves to preach earning it and stuff but their play warranted them being the de facto first line tonight and instead we have to watch the other 2 lines turtle and eventually blow the lead in the third. What realistic explanation could there be for not running them out there every other shift in the third BESIDES their age? Them being young players is really the only thing because there certainly wasn’t anything on the ice tonight that should lead to that decision. This is why I don’t like lumping the kids together. They get sat late in games basicslly just because they’re kids. Tonight their play warranted them playing the most 5v5 minutes and heavy in the third but it didn’t happen. This has to be one of the most egregious examples of something like this all year from Gallant because they were literally dominating every shift they were out there. It’s not like we’re just mad they didn’t get more time for their development, they deserved more time bc their okay warranted it and it would’ve been the best thing for winning tonight’s game.

Gallant gone is an offseason move if it happens.

I'm driving a Brinks truck of money to Barry Trotz's house the day after the Rangers get eliminated this year. If the GM can't build the roster to give this team real leadership, bring it in and put it behind the bench.

He's practically waiting for the job to open up. Says he'll only coach an O6 team. Detroit, Chicago and Montreal are dumpster fires. Toronto and Keefe seem solid, Montgomery and Boston are rock solid. That leaves just one team.

Cue the overreactions after getting 1 point instead of 2. Toronto is a damn good team and they pushed the last 10 minutes. The defense on the OT goal was pure trash though.
You mean the last 10 mins when we stopped using the kids and took a time out to ensure we didnt?

Gallant isn't going anywhere i just hope he learns from this.

Gallant simply doesn't trust the Kid Line to help hold a lead in third periods. But sometimes, the best defense is possession for 2DAMN MINUTES in the offensive zone, Gerard. I hope you're reading this.
Also, they're going to need that experience to grow as players. Being able to close out games only comes after having done it. Imagine a game where you have a line that is dominating the entire game and you have a chance to let them rise up and carry this team to a win, and instead of believing in them, you show them zero trust? f***in gut punch for our kids.
