Lias looked like Skinner on that play. Everything was so congested that you couldn't even tell if the puck was on his stick, until it came off like a rocket.

I absolutely hate actively cheering for us to lose. How the hell were you guys able to do this most of the season?
They didn't really care. I don't mean that to be mean, just factual. The kiddos weren't NHL calibre players for a lot of the year. If Chytil had 27g 33a you can bet there woulda been a lot more cheering for wins.

Tuesday night will be interesting...

People think this version of him “isn’t good enough to win a cup with as 1C”

I think those people are in la la land. Zibanejad is a ****ing animal, best player on the ice almost every time he’s out there. Columbus just can’t handle him.
Zibanejad could be the 1C on a Cup team but I think he'd need to be accompanied by an equally good legit 1C.

He definitely needs a partner in crime.

Imagine Jack Hughes behind him with Zibanejad taking all the tough minutes and still giving us 75 points?

I think most of the young centers at the top of this draft would pair well with Zibanejad, as would Byram.

They’d still need that elite forward, but that’s not limited to this draft.

Not for nothing but Lias has looked pretty dang good the last couple weeks. Noticeably faster too.

Man, Columbus STINKS. Season on the line and this is their effort lol. Sure Georgie has robbed them a few times but it’s not like they’re rolling us over.

If Zucc played this game we would be like 3-0 for Rangers for sure. I almost feel bad for CBJ GM he went all in - and his new guys are barely noticeable for 40 min. and CBJ need to win.

We have to struggle thru 80 games of maybe getting a top 5 pick now this. WTF. I swear if this team wins tonight and doesn't win the lottery on tuesday...We are finishing the season against two teams that are fighting for something.

Duchene is a guy who works best as the third or fourth biggest fish in a small pond.

It's weird. Have to compartmentalize the desire to see the guys do good things while also wishing for the sum of that goodness to be overcome by bad reffing, puck-bad-luck, got opposing goalies. It's a tightrope, indeed.

If Columbus don't beat us, I hope Ottawa curb stomps them and they miss the playoffs. They're playing this game like they were eliminated from contention months ago.

With Duchene's track record, I pity the team that pays out the ass for him in free agency.

Georgiev is a really good goalie. Columbus came hard in the first but in the second period their intensity dropped quite a lot. Their season is on the line and they're f***ing around.

I like Lindgren--almost had a goal in the first--good positioning throughout the game.

And Nieves.

Not sure how I forgot him.

Smith might actually be the best fourth liner we've had this year that wasn't just there because he earned a demotion from the top9.

You must be kidding.

Nieves returned from concussion, has played well, terrific +/- on a horrible team, no time on PP, his Ws have consistently included the offensive black holes that are McLeod ... and Smtih.

Nieves actually does everything well except score, which is learning process for most.

Smith was a stupid indulgence by the win now crowd which we are still paying for.

The fact that he has improved from worse than atrocious to horrible is not much to brag about.

I don't care if he is 3rd pair, 7th D, or 4th line W.
We will be better off when we jettison this selfish loser, who couldn't be bothered to be professional enough to show up in shape.

If they even get into the playoffs, Tampa or the Caps are going to manhandle them in the 1st round.

If I were a betting man, I'd say this is a gut check time for both teams tonight.

I definitely feel for the Columbus GM. He took a risk and it might backfire. I despise when teams play it safe and get rewarded for their lack of creativity and guts.
The Columbus team in general is basically likable. A team that doesn't resort to gimmicks like cheap shots and trying to fill the refs into calling nonsense penalties. Basically the opposite of Ottawa. They deserve a break, if you ask me. I still have a soft spot for Torts, too.
