Trading their best players away for 2 seasons in a row? Compared to letting a young G play on a developing team? Bah. Practically meaningless. Clearly the G playing outweighs trading away all of your best vets

Wait wait wait. Are you saying the moves they made meant they were in tank mode and should have been operating as such since then. Bc I’m just gonna tell you now, your on the wrong boat, your gonna end up having come back to THE boat. The rangers moved those guys bc it’s the was the smart thing, they weren’t winning with them, they wouldn’t signing them long time. So they moved pro-actively (not pro-actively enough I say) to turn those guys into a replenished system and free cap space to turn into new established players whenever they became available.

Let me know when the rangers show it’s anything but that.

I agree with Edge. I like his uniqueness. He’s good defensively, but can also skate. He’s never going to produce big offensive numbers, but he can make some nice passes. He’s physical, but small. He’s sort of a contradiction.

But unfortunately he gets lost in the shuffle. And that’s the only negative of acquiring Fox. Because if we do end up signing Fox, Lindgren will just get pushed further down the depth chart.

fox plays the right side so he wouldn't effect lindgren...he'd effect pionk, lundkvist and keane...but having too many good players at a position is NEVER a bad thing. it might make it more difficult to project the future lineup. but if, lets say, lindgren and keane end up being good players but still can't make the team cause we have 6 guys who are even better than sign me up.

also you need to keep in mind that when building the defense, you don't need 3 pairs of guys that can play 25+ minutes a night...so a guy like lindgren could potentially fit in perfectly as a 3rd pair guy behind 2 of miller/skjei/hajek while the other is used in a trade to fill another hole

but again too much talent is never bad

the point makes a difference because now the best we can finish is 5th if we loses and whoever wins between wings and sabres pass us. had we lost (or any other loser point) and the wings/sabres went to OT we'd be 4th. yeah that scenario probably won't happen so in the end it won't matter but when things are that close a random point here or there ends up mattering in the end

That’s not the right way for athletes and competitors to roll. They are gonna play to tie every game they’re down in and they are gonna play to hold to the lead in every game they are up. Otherwise your Edmonton buffalo of Arizona from years back

Really if the are 5th when it’s said and done. They still got their balls for a top 3 and if it’s 5 or 6 instead of 4. They are still gonna get a guy. You Byram or one of the top 3-4 centers prospects in the draft.
