This is the answer, there have been a lot of guys that I did not like because they were not good enough but that is not a reason to hate someone. Ribeiro was loaded in talent but was an embarrassment to the team and himself.

Going way back Gilbert Dionne was another one that I was not sad to see go. scored 20G in 39 games as a rookie and then started thinking he was Marcel. Was always about him, I remember one point shot that he tipped into the net, guys are starting to congratulate the d man thinking he scored it. Dionne is off to the side pointing at himself to make sure they know its his goal. Not a team guy!!

While I was not sad to see him go, the two he was traded with (Leclair and Desjardins) were missed for a decade.
I remember that game! Dionne wasn't just pointing to himself, he was vigorously thumping his chest with his thumb!

Hockey players have the same ratio of morons than the rest of the society. Marchand liking a player, Ribeiro any year, Linseman, Kassian, lot of bums, fiery arrogant rosters, prima donnas, sexual predators, nhl have plenty of this.

I'm going coach, Jacques Martin. Hated this guy. Can't get more opposite to MSL than JM.

He pigeon holed the players. It was like he wanted to reach out onto the ice and move the players around like a chess board.

I liked Darche , but not top 6 but that's where JM put him because Darch followed orders. I also remembered when AK46 was having a great season start and when asked about it that A Hole said " contract year ". Really ? Really ?

He was lousy with young guys. Patches demanded to play in tje AHL as opposed to 4th line in the NHL.

And the run we had ? JM was scribbling " Halak stop puck, Halak stop puck". Kind of like Ducharme riding Price and the vets who took over.

I can't believe people listed Saku Koivu in here... that's so wrong.
Well well.

Saku was not a 1st line center. Turgeon was. And that dumb *** Reggie traded him to get bigger for Shayne Corson.. Pierre was PPG and had 4 assist his last game as a habs. I hated Ribeiro too dont get me wrong but Saku was a shitty captain. And a shitty 1st liner. He was like that guy said about Darche. Mathieu Darche top 6 variation. Gillett son best friend.

But you loved him so yeah. I'm wrong I guess.

No one is right or wrong in this thread...............it just amazes some posters, that someone could post they disliked Koivu...............just doesn't make sense to most habs fans.....
That's all the previous poster was trying to say.

People also forget how good Saku was pre knee injury and was still .82 PPG as a hab with one of the worst hab team since the 40s. He had such notable wingers as Oleg Petrov, Chad Kilger and Martin Ruchinsky while playing under Therrien no less. Many of those years dead puck era. Our only playoff producer during the low lights of the late 90's and early aughts, some have it from 95-2004 lockout. Basically sakus prime

Zack Kassian was a useless scrub for us. Emphasis the word useless.
He never even played a game, so I can't get behind this vote. Somehow he is still in the league and scrivens is ..well somewhere.

Heres a blast from the past. Sergei Berezin, sorta played a heartless season that made patches seem like a stalwart grinder, and he got the 10,000 goal. How embarrassing this guy got that honour of all people on that team. Stellar year.

The difference is Koivu was our top line center because he was our best center.

It's not like he was getting favorable treatment over more deserving players.

You're holding the sins of management against him because you didn't like the team that was constructed.

Unless you feel Koivu was holding back the likes of Craig Darby and Patrick Poulin, you're hatred of Koivu is entirely misplaced.

1. Ribeiro (obvious reasons)
2. Patrick Roy (Spoiled asshat, even worse human being)
3. Ken Dryden - Great person, I'll never forgive him for walking away from the team or becoming President of the Leafs lol
4. Benoit Brunet - No specific reason, I just always disliked him lol
5. Geoff Molson - Spoiled brat, should have kicked his ass in day camp years ago.
6. Habs management team who made Guy Lafleur retire early.
I didn’t have Brunet on my list, but I disliked him as well , not because he was a bad player (he had his moments) , but because he simply was the most injured player I have ever seen.

He somehow played 11 seasons with the Habs and only managed to play in more than 50 games in any given year only 3 times!

He was Mr.Glass and I guess I hated more the fact that the org. gave him so many opportunities. Any properly run team would have just given up on him but they inexplicably kept trotting him out there year after year for 11 seasons.

I have respect for Mario Tremblay's contributions to the Cup teams in the late 70's.

For everything he's done since his playing days as a coach and media guy, he can **** off and keep on ******* off and perhaps throw himself into a mineshaft where he can sit in the dark and continue to **** off.

When I look back, I never really wanted Domi to succeed here, something in his demeanor just screams narcissistic.

I don't know if that's warranted because I was still youngish and unknowledgeable, but Chris Higgins was such a disappointment to me, so often.
Loved Higgins. Thought he was going to be a great player for us. Then he got hurt and was never the same. I’ve never seen a player so snakebit in my life. So many chances and couldn’t score. Just a sad end.

Didn’t he have off ice issues as well?

Maybe, I can’t remember. But man it was so frustrating. How he couldn’t score was beyond me.
Yea. And I also remember him as a whiner. He once flat out stated he didn’t know who the leader on the team was.

As a side note, I saw him in a club once. He was abnormally jacked. Let’s just say it looked like he had “help “ getting that size
