Kirby Dach. Hope he proves me wrong. But the last time we drafted a guy with all that he brings? Kyle Beach. And he was a disaster.
I wanted Alex Turcotte if we were taking a forward. Much more confident in his skill set.

But we'll see.

Ya, that pick was weird, especially leaving Byram and Turcotte on the board. Had Dach going to the Kings at 5 and penciled in as our 2nd maybe 3rd best prospect. That all changed with Turcotte. Now he is the #1 prospect in the Kings org. We'll see how everything pans out.

Nick Abruzzese (124th overall)

Still in the USHL, despite being 20 years old by the time the draft rolled around. The list of players that have made the NHL who were still playing in the USHL two years after first being draft eligible is VERY short. Not as short as Abruzzese mind you (5'09).

I guess in the 4th round every guy is a bit of a longshot, but it just seems that this is a truly huge longshot, and that there were better options available.

He will be leading team usa to a WJC gold medal finish in 2020. Its gonna be the Turcotte/Zegras show on team usa & then they'll have a rivalry in the pacific division.
I agree he is better prospect than Dach. Chicago just wanted a bigger guy with higher floor i think, Debrincat is quite small they probably want him to be centered by a big center vs 5'11 - 6'0

Logan MacMillan.

The Ducks picked that clown over Pacioretty and you just knew at the time it happened it was a huge mistake

Edit: Didn't read the thread correctly. I'm fine with all the ducks' picks this year
I wonder what MacMillan does now, probably works at Wallmart.

It looked to me like some teams were trying to trade their 7th rounders for 7 rounders next year, it was a pretty thin draft.

My Jackets have a good way of telegraphing their excitement about getting steals. You could tell how much they liked Nutivaara and Gavrikov in the last couple rounds of 2015. You could tell how excited they were about Texier in the second round of 2017. You could tell they were thrilled to get Trey Fix Wolansky in the seventh of 2018. Tyler Angle in the 7th this year? Not that excited.

I'm ok with all the picks we made, if you say "least like" it will be Artus Silovs since it's hard pressed to see a Latvian goalie in the NHL anytime soon.

damn I'm glad I'm wrong. Well I hope Silovs starts playing better, but yea, looks like hes the best pick rather than the worst we got.
