Matthews was an inch from having 2 goals and had a nice effort play on the game winner... he's not going to be the best player on the ice every night.

He played fine.
It may be unrealistic, but he is paid to be. And, he is paid to be a guy, that when he is having an off night, to still be one of the better players on the ice.

No one was good in the first 30 minutes. Once the team actually got playing, he was good.

He looks so damn slow though, and is fumbling pucks all the time. That pass to him in OT should have been a shot on net at a minimum!

Gord Miller said Stolarz stole the game tonight.

That's not true you can't steal a 5-4 win, you can't allow 4 goals and steal a win.

The reality is the boys won him a game tonight.

And that's OK because he's done A LOT more then his fair share all season.

They owe Stolarz about 15 more of these games.

Missed the game but why was holmberg on with less than a minute? Was he that good today?

Top guys were gassed after an extended shift and needed to get off the ice. Holmberg has done well lately with goals in his last couple, so Berube rod the hot hand and it paid off.

Robertson too, who set up Holmberg to tie it.

Holmberg is unreal. All of a sudden he has caught fire out of nowhere. I was just gonna ask "did any recent SC winner have a winger as bad as Holmberg in their top 6?" Then he scores the tying goal. Unreal.
Say what you want about Holmberg but he plays the game the right way and gets involved.
Goes to the dirty areas, willing to take a hit to make a play and plays with a nice amount of intensity.

He’s “on fire” by the standard of a player who rarely ever scores, but let’s not act like 2 empty net gifts from Nylander play into an “on fire” trend. Nice to see him get a couple of actual goals though.

We need the depth, whoever it is, to keep putting pucks in the net.

Was ready to flame the Leafs for not showing up, but glad I didn't just yet and they really came out to play in the 3rd. 👍

Didn't think they had it in them, but happy they proved me wrong. Stolarz had one or two unlucky ones get past him, but he still kept them in the game when called upon. Robertson came up big and now lets hope he can keep it going and really establish himself as deserving a regular spot in the lineup and shut all the people up who keep wanting to trade him. ;)😀

Most folks around here had a circle jerk when the McMann/Domi/Robertson had a few good games, too. Guys like this get hot for a bit then fall off. Same with every team.
