Robertson has to be on this team. He's NHL ready and it's crazy obvious. Marlies are up 2-0 over the Wings

The only issue is the guy who he is competing with also helped with the goal by doing small things right.

I am still in the camp of not signing ZAR and giving Malgin and Robertson a shot.

Remember the name “ sleeper “ Steeves moving forward with our team .. all he does is impress with sneaky points and flys under the radar with tiny play after the other constantly.

Won't be this season imo. But yet another young guy who will be on a good contract that can come in and play bottom 6 wing without skipping a beat. The depth this season is wild. Simmonds and Clifford likely don't make the team. Steeves, McCann, Malgin, Holmberg likely don't make the team...and these are all guys that can play NHL minutes imo. Heck Gaudette likely doesn't make the squad either if Robertson takes the spot he's earned. If Robertson is there, it's a waivers game and that's it

I think ZAR would be a valuable piece since we lack bite and we're about to not have Simmonds or Clifford this season. ZAR is a PK guy and great defensively. However, to your point, it's become evident he's not a guy we need to have. I've also liked ZAR more than NAK, and did in free agency as well.

Keep in mind the Wings are just skating and getting their bodies ready for the season. We will probably see something similar tomorrow. Though the Leafs have more talent than the Wings.

Great play by Malgin to keep puck in and feed it low to Robertson, who made a better play walk out and feed it to Sandin.

Puck has to be stopped though.

ZAR was tied to the Leafs at the start...I think management pivoted quick on the first day when ZAR didn't put into to paper....and got NAK because he fills a similar role. I don't think it was that they got the better player...just they took the sure thing...and ZAR circled back around later.
