Post-Game Talk: Leafs WIN! -> Summer of Dorion continues

It isn’t these players can’t handle the minutes, it’s the increased injury risk. We’re playing out the string, we’re up 3(on the first night of a back to back) and this guy plays his horses like it’s all on the line. It’s stupid.

Can Marchand and Pasta play big minutes in a tight game last night. Sure. Did they? No.

Did Kuch and Stamkos play big minutes in a similiar game last night? No. Can they? Yes.

This is how you have to defend players like Tkachuk.

Make them pay for every inch of the ice and show them that if they're going to get to the front of the net, they're going to have to take alot of damage in the process.

If you don't, they will just plant themselves in front of the goalie all game long and make the goalies night very uncomfortable. This can be tough enough on the goalie for just 1 game but if this is happening in a 4-7 game playoff series it can really be difficult.

Schenn isn't the fastest and his advanced stats will most likely never look great but he definitely brings some foundational defensive elements that we aren't exactly loaded with and these types of things really transition well to playoff style hockey where the intensity gets amplified.

I get a sense that Matthews is trying to score 40 and will use a lot of energy trying.

What does the NFL have to do with hockey?
Are you suggesting we shouldn't play them at all weeks before the playoffs, and completely throw off their rhythm? Maybe put them in a padded box wrapped in bubble wrap?
Again, why does playing normal minutes that you acknowledge they can handle increase their injury risk?
Why do you think you know anything, let alone more than internal management, coaching staff, and the individuals themselves, about their most beneficial load management approach?

Yes, it is quite ridiculous to be upset about our players playing minutes that you acknowledge they can handle weeks before the playoffs, and thinking you know better, despite having zero relevant information about what is best for them.

Yes, why not rest Gio, with the over abundance of D men? Let’s see what he dresses tonight. It’s about pacing ourselves now, we play a ton of games down the stretch here, just keep fresh without added risk.

You've also never seen them advance past the first round so you have no way of knowing how they'd look after playing more than one playff series. Playoffs are much more taxing than regular season games, there's a reason playoffs are called a marathon. There was zero reason for them to play as much as they did last night, incredibly stupid to ride them this hard this close to the playoffs.

Why not just quote this prediction instead of attacking him?
Weird time to attack him after a 3-0 win.
You should ask yourself why this is so important to yourself?

IMO you and the others should be thankful he’s more mature than the rest of you or he’d just ban you for making things up about him.

Which part did I make up?

If people got banned for making things up, your verbal diarrhea would have had you banned years ago.
