I am seriously worried about Matthews. This is the second straight season where he isn't just the same player...he ain't dominating like he used to....his shot is not what it used to be and quite frankly, his effort is quite average. I hope whatever is going on with him is rectified soon. Never thought I'd be worried about a possible Matthews decline at this stage of his career. Paying him for 4 more years after this one only may end up being a blessing in disguise. Any thoughts what is ailing him? You can't tell me he's the same player he was 2 years ago.

Can Marner please just wear a fish bowl the rest of the season. Thank you McCabe for firing a puck off his face and waking our Mitchy boy the hell up

MARNERRRRRRR

Who wants to be a Leaf, who wants to be a Leaf? Good boy Mitchy

Play Matthews with knies and jarnkrok. Run 3 lines or something idk, he can’t play hockey rn.
Marner and Mathtews in OT. Marner with the perfect setup leaving Matthews wide open with no one near him... And he tuns and passes to Reilly who doesn't get anything on it (probably because the last thing he expected was Matthews passing in the SLOT)...

When Matthews scored in the shootout, my reaction was legit "Great goal, Auston... NOW WHY AREN'T YOU DOING THAT IN REGULATION?"

I’m far from thrilled that they go to the shootout every single game but they’re still stacking up points, and I trust over an 82 game season the ROW thing corrects itself.

Matthews needs to get his head together, we’ll see how he fares against Boston but if it’s same old same old I’d sit him for the next.

Thank God Marner's hat trick wasn't wasted.

Another night where they needed 4 to win

And you guys wonder why I'm concerned about the goaltending.

I know they have a great offense I wish they didn't need to rely on it so much.

Not close to what he was.
Average wrist shot.
Losing board battles
Doesn’t strip pucks anymore.
Looks like a chronic wrist injury.
Depressing!

The defense is in shambles. You can't cycle when Rielly is on the bench. This is a good look at why a signing like Klingberg was worth a try.

Leafs need to consider making close triangles with the 3 forwards for close passes, and only pass to the D if your life depends on it.
