It's actually quite strange that a lot of the clichés given to successful teams, apply to us.

Leafs are winning a ton, like a ton of 1 goal games.
Leafs are picking up points when not playing well. Finding a way to win
Leafs are picking up points with a 'next man up approach'
Man games lost on this team, specifically defence, is high.

Imagine after all this, if we have a terrible regular season, limp into the playoffs and then win a few rounds.

The months and months of debate following would be outstanding.

Wouldn't surprise me if it ends up this way. With all the injuries and tight games, the Leafs are facing more adversity in the regular season than they have any other time in the core four era.

If the Leafa play well and dominate the game but lose, all that matters is the final score. Finding a way to win despite not being your best is also not good enough.

Fans are frustrated. It happens with a the lack of playoff success.

Wow we’re barely a top 10 team in the league and by the eye test look worse than we have since 2016? Very inspiring I can feel the cup this year for sure. 🫡
Some people watch a game for enjoyment, others watch to determine if we're going to win the cup this year, apparently. I'll go with my way because most people in here can't handle a win when oir goalie stood on his head and had a night of his life. Bunch of half glass folk in here.

I said earlier in the year that this might be the best thing to happen to this team. For years they have been pretty much assured a playogf spot by Christmas.

If they have to claw and fight all year it may well help in the end

Forgive me for not being inspired by Woll stealing our team a game when on most other nights that game is 5-0 Ottawa before we even wake up

7-1-2 in their last 10 games. 16 out of a possible 20 points. In all honesty, how many more points in that stretch would make you happy? Toronto used to have the biggest homer fan base on the planet. It's now swung in the complete opposite direction. It's fine to acknowledge that they need to work on things (only 60 games left in the season to do it....), but they don't give out the Stanley Cup in December. Enjoy the fact that they are piling up points while playing poorly. Some might actually see it is a good sign.

Enjoy a W for once and stop crying. 99 out of 100 or 30 points in 23 games which is top 5 in the east?
Everyone enjoys a win. I don’t know why you’d be surprised that people would have some negative comments when they play that way.
Probably should check your expectations if you’re expecting anything different.

I will not forgive you for celebrating a win especially when it's the same people crying for losing a game like this when we put the effort in and should've won.

I kind of felt bad for you when people were ragging on your constantly wrong predictions but this post I guess summarizes what you are. Real mature bud.
I never professed to be mature. I was taking a playful shot at you. It's the internet. We're allowed to be silly here. Lighten up.

This thread is about tonight’s game not the season as a whole.

Ffs you too?? Usually you're on my side...

Based on tonight's comments, no, not everyone is enjoying a win.

If y’all don’t see the same detrimental issues we’ve been dealing with for every year of this core I can’t help you. We look the worst we’ve looked since our tank season and some points in events that don’t occur in the playoffs won’t change my mind.

Tell me which game we gave 100% effort this season. I’ll wait.

It's a shame that a certain amount of posters refuse to join in the chat after a Leafs victory just because of who the GM is.

Who? I feel like you're making things up.

Also, just a reminder Samsanov was a .919 goalie last year and is currently 4-1-3 with a .878 this year... there is hope, he will hopefully turn it around, and if not we can still win with his bad goaltending if Woll is out.

Leafs thought the Sens crawl out of last place in the East was cute and shoved them back to the basement.

Leafs showed up missing 3 of their starting 6D, ended up losing both their NHL goalies and still won the game.

Martin Jones just got the win in his Leafs debut.
