To be fair, they weren't playing with much intensity until the 3rd. If they played like that for a full 60, they'd rarely lose imo. Even with average goaltending.
A lot of these guys are so good that when they add that intensity it makes such a difference.

Matthews doesn't have the dawg in him, which is why the dude's a ghost in the playoffs every year. Him scoring a couple of goals in a regular season game doesn't change that. lol He scored 69 goals a year ago and was still a non factor in their 1st round loss, as always.

Terrible special teams displayed again, but they battled through it and the 3 best players showed up. I also thought McCabe was great. Overall this was probably one of their better efforts in a long time.

I don't think anyone was wrong for calling out that trash play.
At the same time we can mostly all agree that 3rd period was excellent other than the PK. Props to them for actually putting some intensity into their game. It's been missing for a long time. Prob since the Boston game.

The toxicity was next level. You'd think we fell off a wagon and were about to miss the playoffs. I don't get it. Every single year, every single team, goes through these stretches. I mean, give it a long stretch first. See you next year!
I'm glad for once in the last couple of weeks they actually battled back the whole game instead of just wilting away.

For me this becomes clear with each game.
He can do a bit of everything, skate, move the puck, plays physical.
