Not gonna lie - Montreal showed me something tonight. Anderson looked good, Suzuki looked good

I thought our Big 4 looked great, especially Willy. Andersen worries me - he seems very leaky and I had no confidence in him.

I get that you're going to take a beating when you're in front of the net, but didn't some of those cross checks on Matthews look egregious?? ...and the missed high stick on Morgan almost cost us.

I enjoyed the overtime in that it wasn't the typical boring, keep possession / keep away play. Both teams got chances and were going for it.

Josh Anderson is a beast

Montreal is a pretty solid team and they work hard under strong structure.

Josh Anderson is a stud.

We again didnt play a full 60 minutes and at some times looked very poor but that could be expected in game 1 with no exhibition games.

Our top players were good especially Nylander.

Our third line is going to have to provide some offense and Mikheyev needs to show he can consistently finish.

Good to see Simmonds step up and he had a pretty solid game outside the fight.

Fred was Fred. Jekyl and Hyde.
