Matthews looked great, Nylander looked great, Tavares was quietly solid, Simmonds was great, Brodie looked good, Muzzin looked great. Barabanov had his moments, Vesey was 50/50, Marner was good, Rielly struggled but came through. Bogosian played poorly, definitely should be rotated in and out, if not outright sat throughout the season.

I do not care for Thornton on that top line. I’d very much like Hyman back up there.

Andersen looked rough but came up with a huge save in OT. Hopefully it’s just early season rust without a real training camp.

Good on Freddy for battling through and team looked sharper as time went on. Still need a tune up but big win.

Remember Clifford's hit in game two Vs Columbus. Muscle still plays a big role, another tough guy and maybe Weber and Chariot think twice laying cross checks into Matthews back.
