These Sparks hottakes are unbearable... that toe save won us the game. Sparks did his job, he did enough to help us win the game... you shouldn’t expect some kind of Vezina performance out of a back-up...

What a game boys and girls! Will sleep well tonight!!

It might be early but so far, it shows that you have an awful GM.

Look, he did NOTHING in terms of upgrading the D. He sucks at making decisions - tough decisions and evaluating talent - in this example, evaluating goaltenders. Sparks is crap. If Andersen goes down for any reason, they are done. A fan here already pointed that out. That's a HORRIBLE situation to put your team in but Dubas has done it already.

Old man Lou did nothing either. 3 years, did nothing to improve the D core.

With this team no way he doesn't grab 25 of those points.
Ok, high horse.

The Leafs defeated Montreal and Chicago, both in OT. And lost to Ottawa.
All 3 teams were not projected to make the playoffs. 25/40 PTS with the backup in net is FAR from realistic from what has been on the ice currently.

Loved Matthews showing some emotion on some of his goals this year.

Thrive young boy! Thrive!!

He’s on a mission. He was robbed of an amazing season last hear mainly due to the nagging injuries. This year he’s on fire and quite easily our best player.

He’s dominating every shift out there. Not hard to see him get 90+ points this season.

What piece of dung game.

So much awful hockey on both sides.

Toronto looks unorganized from the top on down.

Just awful.

Sparks is bad. He looks like a ***** back-up goalie: big equipment guy that drops into the butterfly at every shot.

Sparks is a beauty and hopefully he doesn’t let the tough outing get to him. He got the win and that is all we need from him.

Gotta love beginning of the season where everyone plays really lose, and there's lots of goals.

Curious question, is there a better dman than Rielly who has a worse partner than old man Ronnie?

I know it's only their 3rd game but I think tonight was a statement win. Being down 2-0 early to tying the game in the 1st period, Tavares hat trick and Matthews scoring to make it 6-5 when Chicago previously tied it and they tie it again to make it 6-6, getting a win tonight is what mattered the most and they did.

We don't expect a vezina performance but maybe a save % better than 0.806 isnt a terrible ask

Sparks could have been better but he was not to blame for either of the two EN goals. That blame falls on Babcock, and the D pairings. No aggressiveness, they just let them have the puck and pass it around to their best player, twice in a minute. Kane is too good to miss out on easy pickings.

Exactly. The very least you could do is cheat to Kane's side to give no time and space. Let someone else beat you
