It's about beating a rival. The Habs being mediocre is irrelevant.

It's a old reference to an Ohio State football coach who called the University of Michigan "that team up north" (TTUN), which doesn't really work in the case of TTOE because "out east" in relation to Toronto usually means the Maritimes.
Like the way University of Waterloo students referred to Wilfred Laurier (nee Waterloo Lutheran, showing my age) as "the high school down the street".

Never heard of those schools….. It came from Mullen calling Ole Miss TSUN.

Simpson spent half the night slobbering all over the Habs, they are the most delusional fanbase in all of sports. They actually think the refs favour the Leafs. 🤣 🤣 🤣
As a Leafs fan I didn't feel very even after the first, that's for sure. Looking at the stat line at the end of the game I believe it was 4 penalty calls each and 1o minutes to 8. So pretty even, over the game.

"Said Berube: “Our goaltender led the way, in my opinion.”

And unfortunately that's the only way they're going to win in the post-season since it's a given the bottom 6 can't score consistently (and there's nothing Treliving is going to be able to do to fix that enough before the TDL) and the stars can't carry the offense, never mind the team, on their own.

Short version: If Stolarz and/or Woll aren't Patrick-Roy-circa-1993 this spring, this team is cooked.

There’s no way you can make that claim with any certainty.

And you last statement is not remotely true.

Pretty much what I was afraid of when they announced they resigned Domi to a multi-year contract. Domi just doesn't seem to do good with multi-year contracts...

You want Reaves to pull a guaranteed instigator penalty putting the Leafs down just to pummel Xhekaj?

Not at all. I just think he is a clown. Shouldn't even be in the NHL
The guy offers nothing IMHO
His antics are laughable

-5s happen even to good players.

Weren't there a couple of pretty good Leafs who had -6 games recently?

Every team overhypes their prospects, but it was nice to see Willy put him in his place.

Well if you think he is good defensively then I dont know what you see.
The kid is young and plays alot of minutes. Is really small . Has some offensive talent as he leads all rookies in points but reminds me of Tyson Barrie
