Once again, we got the points, but didn't play a very good game defensively. It shows that this team needs really good goaltending to succeed in the playoffs. We're not capable of playing that hard, solid, consistent game from start to finish that is required in the playoffs.
If we have to rely on exceptional goaltending, it's becoming apparent that Stolarz has to be our No. 1. Woll has played well at times, but he's prone to having these types of games where he loses his net, has trouble finding the puck, leaves bizarre rebounds, etc. I've said it before, that Stolarz doesn't allow really weak goals, and that's what we're going to need. Woll has shown a tendency, even when he plays well, of allowing a stinker or two.
Interesting decision coming up, but I'd play Stolarz tomorrow, and then Wednesday against the Knights. Get him into a fairly good routine of playing regularly with a spell off once in a while.
