Lucky win honestly. Justttt pulled it out. Samsonov played well. Happy the big guys woke up a little bit.

As a Devils fan who went to the game tonight, I just wanted to share a few things. Thoroughly impressed by the Leafs to weather that first period and get out 0-0, that'll be huge for them come playoffs against good teams. Samsonov made some huge stops especially the one on Jack on the 2 on 1. Second thing, The Leafs studs when they're going are incredible. Nylander, Marner and Matthews were a treat to see live tonight. GG's, hopefully we met you guys in the ECF in May. We've had some really fun games this year between the OT in Toronto, the Thanksgiving debacle of a game  and tonight
It was a fun game to watch trading punches. I feel like NJ could really go far this year. No reason why they can't get to the ECF - they have a very impressive team!

Your organization has built a fast, young, hardworking team that should be good for a few years to come. Honestly, I have you guys as the "dark horse" of this years playoffs.

every time this fan base takes a turn to negative town, this team grinds out a game like this and proves everyone wrong. This team is tougher than people give them credit for. They are better than people give them credit for. Also, Ilya Samsonov is the guy in Toronto.
That's the frustrating thing about this team though. They're capable of winning difficult games, they just don't do it consistently which is what the Bruins have been doing most of the season. Get a big win against the Devils or Kraken, then drop stinkers against the Hawks, Coyotes and Canucks.

If they want to be successful in the playoffs they need to be consistently good rather than be up and down where they look good one game and not the next.

Oh shit. That's insane. I've been watching every game and thought he was atleast on for one by now.
Think it was 5 v 5 only but need to double check. Either way, that’s pretty incredible.

Just checked, the guy who posted the stat, stated McCabe had not been on the ice for any goal against.

It just comes down to the +/- of how much you help vs hurt your team, aka how many game tying and game winning assists can you generate, vs how many mental lapses result in goals against.
Holl was a +1 with an assist.

Also interesting, Leafs are 7-3 in their last 10. When I saw that in the standings I was shocked, considering all the recent doom and gloom. It was good to get that road trip out of the way and good they can get some rest before some home cooking. There are still a lot of road games to go, but they only leave the time zone once to go to Nashville which is essentially nothing.

Respect! You guys have improved so much, so quickly. I don't know if you are quite there yet, but I think you guys and the Rangers will be a 50/50 and I'm cheering for you. Next few years when your stars are fully developed, look out.

It’s never been about the what - it’s always about the How.

Perhaps the strangest stat I’ve seen. Looking back it didn’t look like we were outplayed regardless of the shot stats.
It looked to me like the Leafs were outnumbered along the boards, in the corners, at the points, and in the slot, all at the same time, pretty much all the first period. Better in the second and third.

Beauty shorty by Mitchy.

Somewhat surprisingly, the Lafferty line was easily our best.

Two excellent set up passes by Willy.

Liljegren and McCabe impressed me the most on D.

Sammy was very solid.
