The upside is that he didn't have our worst xGF%. The bad news is, he was 2nd last.

I believe he's now been last or second last in 6 of 8 games.

We desperately need him to be better. 2 points doesn't change that.

Also got to shout out Simmonds. He's starting to look pretty good out there and not as slow as he's been the past couple years.

Yeah. Simmonds was so slow that he was first from middle of Leafs zone to the Calgary net and had two cracks at it with no Flame around.

Man that was a horrible call.
And moments later he gets held up or tripped and the refs put away their whistles

When was the last time we had more powerplays than the opposition? I wouldn’t mind but a lot of these calls cheap calls.

With all the games played in a short time we have to be proud of what we’ve accomplished thus far. Really impressed/surprised by Holl and Bogosian. Along with Brodie they’ve really solidified our defence. They are shot blocking and making good plays when retrieving pucks in their end.

I liked our fourth line although they were inconsistent at times. I really think we have something in Lehtonen if we’re patient. He’s calm with puck and has a great shot. Another good game by Soupy.

No love for Bogosian tonight? Dude played incredibly well and made some very good key defensive plays tonight multiple times.

When he has a bad game, ya'll love to bash him. But no mention when he has a good game. He's been solid after his 1st game of the season

Breaking up that two on one was fantastic. He played a great game.

Now if we can get the forwards to stop throwing pies up the middle when pressured by the forecheck!

Lehtonen looking uh...not good. Found the puck found it's way into our end whenever he was on the ice. I know....learn North America etc but frankly, they could play Dermott or even Sandin there.

Not sure I agree. I think he looks poised. Keefe messing with his head. Glad they finally gave him some minutes. They need to give him a few games to adjust. I think he will be good.

I mean, in terms of Rule Book in-game fines, those actually happen all the time, there are tonnes of automatic fines.

Any major stick infraction, $100 fine. Major elbowing, $100 fine. Fighting in between periods, $25,000 fine. Any misconduct, $200 fine. Playing with an illegal stick (curves/measurements, broken, holding two sticks), $100-$200 fine. If you don't go to the penalty box right away, believe it or not, $100 fine.

It's like that Parks & Rec bit with Fred Armisen, where he's listing of all things you can go to jail for.


I don't see anything in the Rule Book or CBA though that explicitly mentions shooting the puck at a player outside of game play being an automatic fine (admit I could be missing it though).
Probably just easier to lob it into "unsportsmanlike" under the CBA, but that wouldn't make it automatic.

That's what I'm hoping for, that Lehtonen can get into more games and get some consistent minutes to see what he can really do. Much like Holl needed a chance to prove himself, so does Mikko.

I flipped a puck at a ref once and was tossed out of the game. Told me I was lucky to not get suspended for 10 games cuz thats the punishment in minor hockey. I would assume this would fall under that rule, but I know it isn't a suspension. Doing to the ref would be but not a player.

The only game I've thought he was bad in was game 1, and he was bad like shouldn't be in the league bad for game 1.
