This game brought me back to this site after a long hiatus, already got a trolling warning from telling some hab fan to piss off. The north division is Gary Bettman's greatest accomplishment as commissioner.

You're always going to come up short comparing yourself to Tampa or Vegas. I want to see how Toronto stacks up to teams in the 3-10 range.

There's still time for Toronto to get to Tampa's level. 3-4 years of good drafting, which Toronto flubbed after the Matthews pick, will get us there.
Ya for sure, I guess what I am trying to say is Tampa and Vegas are the the consensus best in class. They have a formula that we should strive towards. Using statistical comparisons like theirs is more or less a bench mark on what is needed to win it all. Obviously anything can happen in a 7 game series, and comparing us within that 3-10 racket allows you to see where we stack up with the remaining "contending" field. Still think its important to analyze a winning formula and supporting data to see what areas need to be improved to get to that level of success

Reactions: JT AM da real deal
Gives our pk lots of practice ahaha but seriously I agree
Toronto has always got da butt end of penalties ... if you watch habs games they also get screwed ... i bet those 2 teams have it worse than anyone else ... and you have to ask yourself why this crap happens every single year??????????????? ... it all starts and ends with Jacobs and Bettman

No surprise to me i have been seeing it and saying it for many many years now ... I bet da stats show this for many years ... there has always been a bias against da bigger cities ... i mean go up north ontario like barrie and play in a kids tournament and everyone is for screwing da Marlies every chance they get ... ya gotta beat da teams and a da refs that's life ... they even laugh about it

Are puck possession stats available on all Teams?

I feel that we possess the puck more often than other teams, which makes our share of powerplays more baffling.

Another ugly win, first period was a mirage and TO had a very difficult time holding off the Flames, good thing Anderson was on his game.

Love the Mikhey we're seeing now, using his skating and speed at all times, love to see him with AM and MM looking for even more chemistry.

Vesey is showing why Buffalo even didn't want him last year, he's earned 4th line deployment at best, maybe, I think Boyd could replace him.

Engvall should replace Vesey on the 3rd, I even think he should replace Kerfoot as the center on the 3rd line, move Kerfoot to the wing.

Bogo is playing pretty well, he's exceeding my expectations, he's the best 5th/6th d-man TO has seen for a long time.

TO is winning but the ugliness is pronounced, the word is Dermott is available for trade to upgrade the top 6 forwards, I'd say it's necessary.

Good for Muzzin, it seemed a little late as a response to what happened to Campbell but late is better than nothing.

We could be better 5v5 but man so many close wins. I'm not as worried as a leafs fan holding onto a lead this year as opposed to previous years.

Not sure I agree. I think he looks poised. Keefe messing with his head. Glad they finally gave him some minutes. They need to give him a few games to adjust. I think he will be good.

He was the worst Leaf for game scores and awful by every advanced analytic. I'm not a big analytics guy but it did align with the eye test, at least for me.

Best part about beating the hell out of Calgaries patience and P!ssing them of is they ate going in to Montreal for two game hungry. I would not be surprised if they take the first one from the habs

Personally, I don't like using the "tired" excuse. If they are tired after 8 games, how tired are they gonna be after 56 in like 110 days? And then the playoffs. I just don't think it's valid. Everyone is "tired".
Huh? It's a perfectly valid excuse lol. Just because everyone plays the same amount of games in the same amount of time doesn't mean some teams schedule are harder like ours. And yea I expect most teams down the stretch will be noticeable and even into the playoffs. This season is going to be very weird, and already is.
