The 'Combined Goalie Discussion Thread' has been really quiet lately. Definitely not as messy as it was not that long ago.

That’s to be determined. Win two games and your the best goalie in the. League. Lose two games and your the worst goalie in the league. Let’s have the rest of the season play out to really know how good our goaltending is.

Especially if the Leafs can add another high impact forward with Muzzin's salary. They're already a matchup nightmare with Matthews and Marner on separate lines. If guys like Knies, Holmberg, Malgin, and Robertson can contribute depth scoring while they bolster the top 6, things start to look pretty good

Ideally I would still love to see a winger Matthews and Nylander get his own line where he can be the guy.

Nightmare matchup having Nylamder out against a 3rd or 4th line.

^ I've been pretty confident in Gio's ability to be that anchor the blue line needs during this time. And it's paying off.. He's been one of Dubas' best acquisitions and is making near league min after willingly taking less to play here. He needs more appreciation.

It was a solid move. Like Bogosian was. Less physical but better positioned and always prepared to block a shot. Keefe has to give him more minutes when everyone is healthy. These injuries should be viewed as a means to reassess the best approach for the purposes of a series.

Cut 2-3 minutes from Reilly and Brodie and distribute them among the other pairs. Once playoffs start, play Gio and Reilly pairs equally and allow the 3rd pair the weaker matchups. That is how I would view Keefes D core. Right from the beginning, Keefe knew he had a pro in Gio, you saw it in his first post game comments.

Nobody is claiming the goaltending is confirmed good. Just stating a fact that everyone that was freaking out has mysteriously disappeared.

I know you kid and that’s great , and your posts always show wit with real knowledge of the game .
And you know I don’t take this Uber seriously but enjoy everybody here , even the flat earthers
But really
This guy and the two stooges you can’t win when it counts as they don’t bring anything at all other than play .
At least the other 3 do something and pitch in here and there and play smart and defensive real well .
I really love Kampf and Holmberg and ZAR tonight at least .
I really would like to see Steeves and Anderson on our 3rd and 4th and one really tough young big guy that can play and get rid of the 3 soft as soft , nothing , no pulse , don’t score , don’t assist , take penalties, don’t hit , don’t drive to the net , nothing ..
Other than that , I’m only about tgd playoffs now and cup .

This is still better than the alternative where everyone gets off to a rocky start! At least Murray has won before so if he can stay healthy his pedigree and calmness might help this group

It's funny how much people are talking about how good we are defensively this year, when even though we've still been good, we've actually been a bit worse than the past two years.

Difference is our goalies can make a save. Really goes to show how much the puck going in or not impacts the perception.

Murray has inconsistent streaks, everyone knows that.

I think Dubas' idea with the acquisition was that if we get this version of Murray come playoff time we got a good shot of going deep.

Perfect game by the leafs.
Marner has been outstanding since being put on Tavares line.
He always seemed better on the JT line to me, he's not always looking to
Pass to Matthews and can control the play better, also seems better defensively for some reason.

Would love to get a nice power forward for the JT line though, Hyman would look nice on this line if we could have kept him, unfortunately he was too expensive.

For all the crap he's taken, Keefe has done something I didn't think he'd be able to do; he's got the boys locked into playing a sound defensive game.

Holmberg is proving himself. If he can stick around and offer 12 min a night, that would be crazy good.

It's way more defensively sound than Babcock ever had them playing.

Keefe has Holmberg playing C and taking D-zone faceoffs. Kerfoot ice-time plummeting. Just trade Kerfoot and plug in Robertson

Kerfoot's always been one of the most replaceable pieces in the forward group and i think management kinda missed out on a golden opportunity to get max value for him in the offseason.

Great win, team is finally getting it and it just took a crisis on our blue line to have everyone playing a 200 foot game. Sure we have had some hick up but they are certainly playing as one unit.

Kallgren played a solid game. Sandin after a very shaky start has really simplified his game and Liljegren has been great all year. Seems he is always on the ice when the leafs are scoring.

Please don’t spend our 1st on a half season acquisition. We do have some players we can call up. I’d like to see Kerfoot moved in a pure hockey trade....Kerfoot for Comtois would be really interesting.

Kallgren and Holl both deserve some love. Holl has been outstanding since the injuries. Kallgren has put up respectable numbers, even for a legit NHL backup.
