They can try playing off our injuries and overblowing theirs; but their full healthy roster; without their starter... would still look this bad. We have important injuries; our starter included.

Scrivens .927SV
Reimer .929SV.

I think everyone knows it's time to trade..

Bozak + Kadri + 2nd for Luongo.

Wow great numbers!!!!!
Hopefully they can sustain them.

Are you sure its Luongo maybe we should trade for the highly touted Bernier. ;).

Let the team grow together. GLG

Alfie is done. He knows it's over. It would make me feel warm and fuzzy to see him ride out his final season with the Sens finishing at the bottom of the standings.

Iget that warm fuzzy feeling every time he touches the puck and the building boos him, I start booing at my TV. Hate that fker.

Didn't miss anything.

Leafs were outplayed, plain and simple.

They ended up being opportunistic, but if it weren't for Scrivens that game could've been easily tied or a loss. But hey, you need that from your tender every now and then.

Two straight games where there hasn't been much of an effort from the Leafs... they started picking up later in the game, but it's still concerning.

Either, couldn't be happier about the 2 points, as that's all that matters!

Yeah, they will take the 2 points every time, and nice to see Scrivens with his first shut out as well. Thanks for the report :)

Scrivens was the best player on the ice tonight. Otherwise, it was a predictably boring game considering all the information I injuries to key players on both sides. Nonetheless, it's always nice to shut out the irrelevant team in Ontario.

even if we looked bad, at the end of the day its a W and its the 2 points we need. Last year we would lose this game. We need to keep winning the games we should win.

Something we never had happen previous years....

Win games where we got outplayed.

Reason being: Goaltending.

GG Scrivvy.

Not taking anything away from Scrivens I just happen to be one of the few who thinks he's better than Reimer anyway it wasn't all Scrivens. Once again the things that most people don't see on this forum what size, strength and toughness on the back end is so valuable. Only Liles is a soft D men and the size, strength, toughness in Holzer, Frasor, Phaneuf, Kostka and Franson had just as much to do with the shut out as Scrivens did cause the front of the net is no longer a free pass to the other teams.

How many 2nd chances did Ottawa have? Not many and that's the reason why.

It's clear to me anyway what Nonis should be doing from now to the trade deadline and on to the draft. Forget about the over hyped RoR stay the course with patience, trade Gunnarson, Mac for picks if nothing better comes the Leafs way to replenish the graduation of full time Leafs in Kadri, Frattin, Holzer. When the soon to be Gardiner gets back where he belongs you could add Liles into the trade front.

The Leafs are becoming a TEAM and that's what wins in the NHL not because you have individual star players. Continuity is important, get rid of what isn't a fit and stay patient for the right deal or the right player become available to improve from trade or UFA. The right player isn't RoR period for what the cost is both in what the price is to get him and the type of contract he demands.

We won 2-0 with an ENG, we were outshot 34-28 and outplayed by a team with names like Da Costa, Daugovins, Gryba, Benoit, Dziurzynski, Grant, Lundin and O'Brien playing a regular shift.

We won because we capitalized on our few opportunities and got lucky when we gave up good scoring chances. Not because we played well.

We won because we did a great job at killing penalties (including some weak calls) and capitalized on our scoring chances. But ottawa who looked like they were skating in quicksand for the first two periods and lost 3-0 somehow outplayed us... my god :help:

And you do know that we have injuries too right? We're playing with guys whose names are Kostka, Fraser, Holzer AND playing Colton Orr with Kadri because Lupul/Frattin aren't options at this time.

We played well enough to win which we did.

Leafs looked shaky early on. They tightened up as the game went on but a better offensive team would've capitalize on those opportunities.

A big two points nonetheless.

This might have been mentioned already, but take a look at the save % leaders. Ben and James are in the top 10! Reims is 9th, Scrivy is 10th. Way to go, boys! :handclap:

Ugly win but you take the points however you can get them. Anderson has been playing strong in net so far this season but I don't think the Leafs challenged them very much tonight. I kind of felt like the Leafs weren't taking the Sens seriously and let themselves coast through having gone up 1-0 very early in the game. Scrivens played a great game though. Happy to see him get the shutout. He played confident tonight and while he wasn't much tested with the Sens offense, hopefully he can use the confidence of a performance like tonight and take it into the next several games when the team won't be so fortunate to be facing injury riddled teams.

We played really badly even though Senators had AHLers in their first 2 lines. The only reason we won was coz of Scrivens and Sens having no finishers.
Most of the time it's why we lose as well coming up against a hot goalie and our finishers not finishing.

I take an ugly win over a pretty lost. Good team effort today. Neither team really got it going but we stuck together and kept grinding and got the win and kept it clean at the backend.

Dion really keeps impressing me. Not only do he make better and smarter plays in the offensive zone, he have also stopped getting caught puck watching in his own zone. It is like he some how all of a sudden really see the game the way a leader and #1 d-man should. It´s awesome. Probably our most improved player this season together with Kadri. Kadri have had better games but he looked a bit more lively after RC gave it to him on the bench. Good to see he reacted the right way.

I think this team can make the playoffs since we finally seem to have more way then one to win. We can play with skill and we can grind it out. We have pace and a solid PK and the PP is starting to look better as well. Things are looking good.

Completelyagree about Dion
Again as i've said in the past if he stays under 25 minutes a night he seems to have the strength to play to a elite level. When he gets too tired he has brain farts

That was an ugly win but i'll take it. We definately didn't play our best hockey there.

As for the game being boring, winning is never boring. Not making the playoffs is boring!
