Don came up in an era where every team would dress multiple enforcers on a nightly basis, and he never really adjusted to the fact that the game has evolved away from that.

Still, if you look across the league, most GMs/Coaches do still seem to find value in having an enforcer on the roster; it's certainly not exclusive to Don.

If the Bruins are sellers at the deadline, it'd be nice to add a guy like Frederic and check multiple boxes all at once.
When Cherry played there were 2 or 3 skilled guys who didn't fight or hit, the rest of the team would drop them with almost anyone although there were guys you just didn't fight with because they were gorilla strong and once the fuse was lit there was no turning back. Howe was king back then and didn't drop the gloves too often but when he did...

it matters when its the leafs getting multiple game suspensions. and dirty hits on leaf players putting them in Danger get nothing, your takes are so bad
Really. You care that the guy who everyone on this board wants to ride out of town (Reaves) gets suspended while another guy doesn't? It's all meaningless. They could suspend Reaves for 80 games and it would mean nothing to the Leafs' success. Would you puff out your chest if Whitecloud got the same irrelevant 5 game suspension? It seems pretty irrelevant to me. The Leafs won the game. That's all that really matters.

did I say Reaves? or do you like just posting your nonsense to fit your narrative, guess you only care about last nights game, this goes back since Parros took over the DOPS, many instances where leaf suspensions were high games lost, and when something happens to a leafs player, the other teams get no suspensions or very small ones, its more than the hit last night, maybe do a little research on how the suspensions seem to go one way against the leafs, and than reply instead of your wild inaccurate takes, that are some of the worst on this board

Oh good this should bear a real resemblance to someone explaining a riot as just a tour for some out of town visitors. I mean it kind of worked before

Does Parros have no shame to go into public to explain himself? Guy only has that job cause someone in the league felt bad about the way his playing career ended. Let's not pretend like there's a thought process behind anything that isn't just a dart board and a vendetta.

Hahahaha. That’s not how they organize the standings thruout the season. Never has been and probably never will be…
It's always been how they organize the standings. It's how they handle things that require rankings like waivers, and it's how they ranked the teams with different games played in the Covid year. Bragging because you've played more games than another team is weird. Let's wait until we're actually 1st.

You don't understand the mission, we are trying to get away from 2020-2023.
No, you don't understand the mission. You are trying to get away from 2020-2023. The Leafs are trying to get back to that level. We're doing better than last year, at least.

That's reminiscent of some of those Scott Steven's hits, and I thought they outlawed them.

To be honest, I hated Scott Stevens and spent considerable time back in the day looking at his biggest hits for evidence of how dirty they were and I came mostly empty. I think he was mostly clean even by today's standards. The most obvious exception is the Kariya hit, that was dirty af.

You're right about this. If the season ended today for some reason even with Florida a higher win percentage (they don't anymore but for discussion's sake), I believe the Leafs would win the division due to the second tie breaker (ROW wins). The big reward would be...playing Boston.

So the goal is to get back to the years where we weren't good enough?
The goal is to win. Getting back to being a top tier team improves our chances at that. If we can be better than those years, then even better, but we have to get back to that level before we can surpass it.
