Win or lose in the shootout is a loss as far as I'm concerned. This team should never be in so many shootouts with all their "talent." 2 pts are better than 1 but not much.

Auston Matthews needs to get engaged. He needs to take control. He needs to at least seem like he cares.

I liked a lot of what I saw, regardless of that roadkill first.

But wait a f***ing minute - they won? I turned it off after Rod’s SO - yay, groovy Leafs hockey...

Mitch plays better in a cage - that's not unexpected, that's just Leafy.

Willy had a few moments but isn't dangerous every time he has the puck like he was.

Woll was outstanding, enough of this yoyo shit, make a tough decision for once, Keefe, because your seat stays hot even with a win. Woll has had a few bad games but hasn't been bad more than every other game like Sammy.

Even Reavo wasn't horrible, or at least he wasn't a detriment. Gregor and Kampf played great games.

I also saw some stuff I didn't like. Bench minor going into overtime, Timmins is scary in our zone and Brodie keeps making bad decisions with the puck at bad times.

And Matthews - his timing is way off, it's something mental. He did manage to show up for a mittensy OT goal, but he's making passes to no one and getting his shot blocked by shinpads left and right.

And why is the ice at the SBC, home area of the team that prints money, so shit? Mitch had that goal but hits a crack, puck is bouncing and moving fast then suddenly slowing, it's f***ed.

Refs can review penalties now? This league - why is some shit up for debate and some isn't?

I've had it about up to here with these continual icings. Make a rule where if the puck passes within three feet of the net its no ice, or if a guy is in forward motion but has to dump it 4 feet from center it's no ice, or if a guy is dogging it back its no ice, or if the goalie goes beyond eight feet from his net it’s no ice. It's ridiculous and I’ve been bitching about it since 2017.

Maurice will bitch about something, even without the questionable shootout goal.

I hate to give them praise, but it's not hard to see why Florida got far last year and will probably go far again.

Proven #1 Goalie - inconsistent yeah sometimes but he single-handedly ended us and Carolina's seasons last year.

Decent amount of firepower up top with Tkachuk, Barkov, Verhaeghe and Reinhart and good fundamental secondary guys like Lundell, Bennett, Luostarinen and Lomberg.

Ekblad, Montour and Forsling are all top pairing defensemen and all of them can shoot the puck, where do you get those?

All lines are fast.

They're heavy on the boards and more than a little dirty but they have an identity and everyone has bought in.

Losing two to Chi and Pit will have implications later.

I actually didn't mind him tonight. Thought he fought through it but the SO attempt was obviously goofy and humiliating in the way things sometimes get.

That was the cherry on the shit-cake, but he was turning it over on the PP like no one's business, and I don't remember him making a single positive play other than that one blocked shot.

You watch the shootout attempt and a few other flashes and it's pretty clear it's all just mental... the tools are as good as ever but have barely been put to good use this season.

Much needed W
The two late powerplays weren't very good.
Gregor with probably his best game as a Leaf.
Thought Nylander had quite a poor game.
Woll had a good game and might have been the difference.

This level still doesn't feel good enough and they need to start playing much better if they're going to consistently beat the best teams.
